I'm skeptical of the lumen rating.

I would be less skeptical of the lumen rated and more skeptical of the quality

duracell, rayovac, energizer flashlights all suck they are all unreliable horseshit

you want something bright and reliable you need xtar, thrunite, surefire, klarus, fenix...etc

...none of these dura-vac-ergizer old school brands last for shit

Looks more like 200 lumens at best.

compare it to an LED maglite they'd be same....that screenshot is not a good comparo

My little 4seven mini 123 will throw a better beam than that duracell thang

the duracell one is focused...I could light up the side of the building with the mini123,
a bit less bright in the hotspot, but much wider and more useful beam

So I am sure that most of the people here don't need this post of mine, but the ones saying the Duracell is a good light, here's a very quick schooling. The most important thing in rating light output in flashlights is having a light with regulated output. Good lights like Surefires, Fenix, Nitecore and the like contain regulated circuits which means if it's rated to a certain output, it will always deliver that output until the battery is gone. Non-regulated lights like Duracells, and cheap lights only deliver their max output within a few seconds of turning the light on. Even with new batteries the output diminishes slowly from the second you turn it on and then more quickly at the end. You will not notice it, but it is happening and it's a very constant but gradual drop off. That is why rating the brightness of non-regulated lights is useless.

Anyway, I'm not saying the Duracell is a bad light at all, it's a good price and does the job. But regulated lights are really a whole different animal and people usually don't understand the difference. If anyone cares that is.

I have bought a ton of lights from 4Sevens, as said the Mini 123 is my zombie apocalypse light. You can find them here:http://www.foursevens.com/

And if we really wanna get nerdy, we can talk about integrating spheres!

That is very similar to the 4sevens mini123 I talk about. Basically Nitecores answer to it. It's a CR123a battery so it's 3 volt light. High power, very nice light for so tiny.

Have the flashlight nerds ever found a good flashlight that sits in the cigarette lighter of a vehicle?
I've seen a few, like the idea, but wonder about the execution. If you know of a good one, let me know!

I see those around, but I don't really understand the benefit. If you use a light that takes CR123a batteries, they will last for 10 years sitting in your truck and not lose any output. But to be fair I'm not up to snuff on rechargeable lights so I'll leave any more info to someone else.

The 4sevens or Nitecore mini is smaller than a cigarette lighter too.

A couple Fenix and a Petzel gets me by. I'm too poor to be a flashaholic. :(
