They look the same. If I didnt know any better I would say the same people made them. But Backflip gives you more options the VP, the G1, Fibermax, F1..... and warranty looks good.

Salesman told me 82%. 30% seems a little light compared to the number I have seen with them on...

For those considering the BakFlip do you have security concerns with how the cover opens (pull cable)? One of BackFlip's competitors has a video out showing how easy it is to unlatch the BakFlip G2 cover (with the tailgate closed) by just using a cloths hanger.

Thanks for posting this, with the pictures and reports from actual owners. My truck has a production date but I just emailed the guy at the dealer and told him "no factory tonneau, it leaks and they hack the rails to install it".

Might update to let you all know what they say in response to that. I'm sure I'm driving my sales guy nuts. LOL

Looks like we will be waiting a while as the options are slim to none right now. Will be middle to end of next month before I get my truck anyway.

I tried the same, they could not remove it. Oh well. Many really like them, I've just
    never had or needed one.

I am thinking about getting a bakflip, can anyone tell me if the 16 taco has the drain hole plugs needed in the bed up at the cab?

    No update yet.

I have a feeling that with the pressure that Toyota USA is feeling on the mileage requirements (which I support in general) they're probably telling the dealers "you're out of luck, we can't remove the tonneau".

But likewise, the dealers will push back against the company and let them know if their buyers don't want them. For example, I could have had a truck in some of the very first batch, but they were producing a bunch with the gray seats and orange stitching; I am not into that look, and my guy at the dealer said last week that the company is already shifting the percentage of trucks they build with that combo because a lot of the dealers were telling them that's not what the buyers wanted.

I have only seen one, but I think I would rather forego the factory cover. Funny thing is on the Toyota website The truck I want, 4X4 Double Cab Short Bed Sport Auto with JBL is ONLY avail. w/o the factory cover if I build it in Super White. The other 2 colors I like, Blue or Silver it seems as if I MUST get the factory cover. Seems like it will be a Super White Taco this time around again for me.

Not sure what type of drain holes are needed for the bakflip but there are 3 small drainage holes in the bed at the cab end.

I have one and it's a poorly designed hunk of junk imo. If you can get them to throw it in for free...maybe but I wouldn't even pay them invoice for it. Money better spent elsewhere.

A coworker has a Ranger with one of these Peragon covers. He likes it. Seems to be sturdy. I didn't ask him how waterproof it is though.
