From what I understand Tacomas lean a little to the drivers side. Correct? And this is why most lift kits include a 1/4" spacer to put on the drivers side to correct for that lean. Right? Why would they build them like that?
    Thanks.

Because the gas tank isn't in the direct middle that's why. And they correct for it from factory. Most people notice it after they install a lift, which is why you have to compensate for it with a spacer or adjusting adjustable coil overs differently.

Makes sense. Figured it was something like that. Thanks.

No lift on mine, and I think it leans (have not measured - might forget before I ever do).

My lean was obvious when my truck was stock - more then 1/2 inch up front and dead on 1/2 inch in back. This was even with a nearly empty gas tank and me not in the truck. 1/4 inch spacer with my lift solved it.

Yup, that is what I thought, so it begs the OPs question. Doesn't really bother me and I know it is SOP, but it is a valid question. Why has Toyota chosen not to compensate for the driver lean from the factory? There is probably a valid answer.

Because 95% of Tacoma owners will never notice it or hear about it and couldn't possibly care less.

Think of the three heaviest things on that side of the truck that are not centered:the gas tank, the battery, and you. Granted the battery isn't too heavy, it still puts some weight on that side. There isn't any counter balance on the right side. Most people don't even notice it. Why spend money to change everything around on the truck, when the people who it really bothers have no problem spending under 100 bucks to fix it?

I don't think the OP nor me were really asking 'why' they lean - that is patently obvious. (By the way the lean is present sans driver). The question is why Toyota have not seen fit to address it stock. The answer it seems is "it is not a problem, and most people don't notice it" which is fine.

Stock coil springs are side specific. That is how Toyota addressed it. Maybe not enough?

Bilstein 5100's w/ Eibach coil overs in front (set at 3" of lift). Front diff drop kit. Extended Bilstein 5100's in the rear. Deaver 2" AAL in rear w/ axle shims. 285 x 75 r 16 Goodyear Duratracks. Wheelers steelies type B, AFE cold air intake. Sway bar delete. All Pro Apex front bumper (rattle canned Rustoleum primer + flat black). Plasti-dipped emblems. Mud flaps removed.
It might be especially present in Tacoma's where there is rarely a passenger too, the repeated cycling of weight on the drivers side might cause the a little sag. I've found that not eating McDonalds very often helps.

Makes sense. But not enough to address I guess. 2500 miles, no driver, some lean on a 3/4 tank.

Icon ex. Travel co's, spc uca's, bamf lca skids, 1" body, all pro heavy duty sliders, expo springs, BAMF shackle hangers, 14" bilstein 7100, rear frame box, custom rear frame crossmember, ifs skid, transmission skid, t-case skid(modified by @jeepandrew for exhaust reroute and more beef), custom k&n intake, flowmaster, diff breather mod, stereo with nav/speakers/subs, coverking tactical ballistic seat covers, Baja utility rack, lots of bed liner, anytime fog mod and steel braided brake lines, energy suspension rad support bushings, abs kill switch, cali raised ditch lights, fsr rtt. Lots of plans, little money....
I've noticed my cab mount and radiator support bushings have flattened on my driver side quite a bit compared to passenger side. Energy bushings should help, it's on my list of things to do.Toyota bushings suck imho. My driver side icon is already adjusted to the max and I still have lean.
