Thank you...this is what I was looking for. According to some here you should have never purchased your 2006 model due to the fact that you actually made some suggestions which means you should never had bought the truck in the first place. :D

Suggestion != Complaint. It sounds like you meant to say "Should I go directly to Toyota with my suggestion?" -- in which case I would said "Yes."

Agreed, suggestions will make products better in the sense that they align more with what the consumer wants. Everyone has "wishes" for what their truck could have. I wish my 2014 had the autodim rearview mirror. But I knew when I bought it that it wasn't there, so suggesting to Toyota that they include it in future models is acceptable, but complaining that the truck I bought didn't come with one isn't reasonable because I bought it knowingly.

I get it now. You did not actually mean to ask the question contained in your thread title "Do you complain directly to Toyota?".

Read first post and came to same conclusion i usually do with these topics.

I am highly confused on buyers that have done research on Tacomas, trolled the forums, know all "issues" that exist, and then still buy one. Aaaaaaaaaand then seem shocked it's not a $55,000 F150 Lariat with air conditioned seats.

And I am not trying to sound rude. I think a big part of these views comes from the fact that $30,000 or $35,000 is a lot of money. Agreed. But if you have remotely shopped the truck market in recent years, this is where its at currently. A lot of factors of have gotten the price points here over the last 15yrs (too big of a discussion to sidetrack this thread with).

I bought a 2007 AWD Passat Luxury package for $32,000 new in Jan 08. Coming from that to my new 2015 Tacoma SR5 I lost a boatload of amenities, and the 07 is 8 yrs old! But the difference is, I bought an upper-middle well-equiped sedan and paid accordingly and received accordingly. I could have spent in low $20's to have cloth and FWD in that car. Trucks by nature have a higher starting point for their price range. So when you are spending $30,000, while still A LOT of money, it is near the bottom of truck market price range. If there was a $45,000 Tacoma with 8-way adjustable seats, heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, directional headlights, rear defrost, etc...would you be willing to spend that?

I think 90% of people enjoy the assurance and value Tacomas offer, and most that don't have a hard time understanding dollar amounts are relative to market and don't simply carry a finite result.

Yes. And, no. I have filled out the surveys I've received from Toyota USA corporate. Thumbs up are given, where appropriate. I also include suggestions in areas I think their product could be improved. Is that "complaining?" Maybe. I also fill out surveys regarding service visits. And I do complain in those if I feel a complaint is warranted. Don't know if it has any effect, or not, but local dealers seems to think so.

If you want to raise your seat, semi-permanently, there is a seat lift link in my sig. I raised mine 1" for better visibility on the trail and better seating position and I'm 6'. It is however not adjustable.

I actually greatly prefer manual seats. They are lighter, simpler, less expensive and more reliable. All I can think about in a power seat is one of the servos will eventually fail, and then you get seat yaw when trying to adjust it and it costs a fortune to fix. Not to mention they weigh more and typically have less under seat storage room.

I like the manual seats. The more complex features there are in a truck the more that can go wrong.

I thought this WAS/IS a "happy place". Relative to where I work, this is HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY! "It's all in how you look at things" said the man who was standing on his head.....

There are "suggestions", "concerns", "complaints", and "whining like a cat with it's tail caught in the car door". Some of these get more consideration than others. One get's a person branded as a crab ass by those who don't see things from the same perspective.

Personally, I got nothin' to complain about, just things I'd like to see done differently in the future.

I think they call it "attitude"??????

Ya know what? I even see the Uberfanboy Nation view as legit. I see the "I'm a dumbass for buying one nation " view....Point is, I'm ONE opinion. YOU are one opinion. Even if we share the EXACT same point of view, we may be the ONLY two that do.

For those Uberfanboy's......I'm happy for ya. It's a rare thing in todays world when you can find something that makes you totally happy. Take it and run with it.

For those who would complain if you hung 'em with a new rope....Cheer up. We don't live forever and you won't have to endure this shit much longer in the grand scheme of things.

For those of us who are just happy with what we have even if it COULD be better, Smile and enjoy the show! (while we watch the other sides throw shit at each other....)
