Well hopefully you can at least hit one of the trips next month. As for Moab, you better start planning now!! I still wasn't ready hours before roll time. If you go next year, maybe we can plan something to go through Ouray on the way back to hit those trails

Yeah for sure. I think we have to wait until later in the summer for the snow to melt. I was told those trails are impassable until somewhere around August.

Black Bear is generally open from mid-July through mid-September.

Is there any threads on previous Moab trips?

Im really working the wife up to a trip back to CO. I lived there for so many of my childhood years and used to go back every year for skiing. Things are different now, wife, kid, TRUCK! So naturally I want to get back out there but this time utilize my new toy for some sightseeing/adventure.

I'm no off road expert, but I think some of the other guys will agree that if you're planning on going to Moab, you better be ready to put some heavy coin into your truck. I am settling with the lift and mostly cosmetic changes until my warranty runs out so no Moab or gnarly trips for me for another 20k-ish miles.

I totally understand and am in the same boat. The list is long and the wallet is short. Its just nice to see so I can gauge priorities. Its definitely a goal to be able to wheel out there. For now though I am getting the family back into camping and convinced for some 4-5 day adventure trips within my capabilities.

I hear ya there. I've got two two-year-olds :angrygirl::angrygirl: and want to get them interested in the outdoors before they get too involved in technology. Fortunately the wife is on-board, too.

I wouldn't hesitate to take a stock truck to Moab. I mean it may limit a trail or two but I bet it'd be just fine. Once the rear bumper falls off.
