Yeah, the clock is totally invisible, and the seatbelt doesn't retract like I think it should, but...

My biggest complaint is the doors are too small. I'm just a little guy (5'6") and I have to really duck my head to get into my '02 PreRunner without smacking my noggin.

Well now that I think about it for a minute I really miss power door locks and climate control, but I'm just a spoiled brat.

The seat back may be rubbing against the back of the cab. Tip the seat back forward or move the seat forward and see if that helps.

It is an extended cab so it isn't rubbing on the cab sadly. It is like a high pitch squeak, metal on metal. If I shake the seat myself I can hear it squeak just haven't been able to trace the source.

It it like something is loose? Mine does this also, even though ive checked the seat bolts. Seems to do it on rough freeways when there is nothing on the seat. I usually have my laptop bag or a jug of water on the seat, that little bit of weight solves the issue.

Underpowered. If they would have squeezed out 50 more ponies(V6 190hp stock to 240hp), I think I would be happier. A little bigger balls.
Tuneablility. Access to the ECM to change the settings like timing and fueling. The above would maybe be achievable.

Just stumbled on to this tread and post and I have to correct you. Mexican is correct. You are not being politically incorrect. I am Cuban. Yes I was born in Cuba and came to this incredible country that I love at the age of 8. Spanish is the language the we speak. I purchased a Tacoma from a Mexican. I asked all the pertinent questions when buying a used car/truck. He gave all the right answers. Well 90% of his answers turned out to be lies. Unfortunately I found out about it when I started a thorough teardon of the truck. If I was to come across this gentleman again I would pick him up over my head and drop him on his until his head came out his ass. The good thing is that my sons Tacoma was torn down and rebuilt by us and it was done right.
Needless to say that experience has left me a little skeptical about buying a car from a Mexican.
    Mexican's are Mexican's
    Cuban's are Cuban's
    Colombian's are Colombian's
    Puertoricans are Puertoricans
We speak Spanish but we are what we are.
Oh yeah. Hate the weak leafsprings.

Crap frames, and crap seats. I never understood the clock complaint, all you have to do is tilt your head to the side a touch and you can see it.

well I had the 99 and the clock was always clearly visible without looking for it when driving but when I bought my 04, I have to literally look around the steering wheel. its just the 01-04 trucks that are hard to see the clock in. im told the steering wheels are different size and style for the 01-04 and that caused it to be hard to see, plus the 01-04 seats are firmer so you sit about an inch higher in them and that also changes the viewing angle.

My stock passenger seat used to do that. All the time.

I did a seat swap, so that noise is gone.

The fact that the pos always has something wrong, every time I fix something and think should be good now something else pops up. Its never ending

i have the opposite gripe about the seat belt tensioner from what i see on here...unless im wearing about 4 layers it pulls on my gut overly hard causeing me to feel like ive gotta wizz real bad all the time...no hanging out the door for me.
other than that its tops without a doubt.

someone probably rewound the spring in it too much, there is a mod thread that shows how to open it up and set the spring tighter or looser as you like.
