too bad this belongs in the 1st gen instead of 3rd gen.

new so-called "tacomas" in no way resemble the toyota pickups anymore.

 

Not a first gen. It's a second gen pick up and you could argue that even that is wrong and it's a third gen pick up depending on how far back you want to go with toyota trucks.

yep you are correct.

its actually 4 gen since its a hi-lux and not a Tacoma.

 

And it's not a HI-Lux... It was just called a pick up

well all Toyota trucks prior to the Tacoma where based on the hi-lux. they just didn't put hi-lux as the badging/brochures if I remember correctly. and yes they just called them pickup trucks back then.
