If your line of credit is fairly large then that could of caused it. Try your bank. Play it like I said. They might play ball.

None of the factors you mention are relevant if buying out. The buyout price is fixed at signing.

It's only fixed if you meet the criteria of the rest of the lease. Trust me. Read your lease carefully. If you break the terms of the lease there are penalties involved. Whether or not the dealer chooses to enforce them is a whole separate story. In general people do buy out the lease if the penalties come into force, but that's a shitty spot to be in if the truck is not in great condition.

At the end of the day, owning your own vehicle that you can do what you want when you want with usually trumps the lease. Without the ability to write the lease off as an expense you really lose the only pro for leases. You MIGHT save a few hundred dollars leasing IF the lease interest rate is low but then if you have any issues your financial risk is pretty high.

Don't you also need to have all work done by the dealer as well? cant do maintenance at other garages.

But yes READ very carefully. Don't believe a thing the dealer tells you it says, actually read it.

Yes, all work on the vehicle must be done by the dealer or you will be hit with penalties, which force you into the buyout no matter what condition the truck is in.

The trick is to understand everything you can about your lease and to, basically, be happy giving up control of your truck until the lease is up. I've heard stories of people lifting lease trucks, bringing them in for an oil change, and then having a spirited conversation with the finance manager when they get back. If they see your truck lifted while in for work, they might tell you that you've violated the lease terms and you owe them the early buyout amount...

That would suck, and it's within their power.

Unless things are different in Canada, maintenance isn't required to be done at the dealer. It just has to be done and a record of it.

Sidenote- apparently tinting your windows after the fact can be viewed as "Excessive wear and use"

    eek.
All I learned from experience with dealers is DO NOT trust a word they say. I mentioned it before in this thread I believe how I had a dealer tell me put a deposit while I look into insurance etc and that I can always get it back. Ya well I never got that $1000 back, and I brought the document to my sisters friend after asking her about (since shes a lawyer) and she read through it and told me ya, there is nothing saying they have to give it back as soon as I signed that the money was never coming back.

And all the bad expereiences I had with VW here. Just do not trust them.
Other problem is a lot of these are written in legal text so its hard to understand what you're reading sometimes.

Has anyone confirmed yet whether or not the Limited comes with a tonneau cover or not?

I think I'm starting to second guess myself, I've got a deposit on the Sport Upgrade package but I'm going to be adding leather (~$1300), a tonneau (~$1300) and the Sport won't have the upgraded JBL stereo or the sonar. The Limited is $4000 more and I'm having a hard time figuring out whether it's worth it or not. The chrome I could care less about, the side steps I don't mind but don't need. Wouldn't add them myself.

Damn these forums and their information providing ability!

From what I can tell on the spec sheet, the TDR Sport Auto comes with the smart key, which I believe is the push button!

I'm all over push button starts, love not having to take keys out of my pocket. Helps with groceries, hockey gear, kids, etc. I need it on my house!!

My dealer just got another blazing blue DCLB TRD Sport upgrade 4X4 in today, just like the one I bought, they also have a black DCLB 4X4, that one is not a sport, I think its just a SR5.

Yes the sport auto, no upgrade, has the push start button. For the driveinn movies, you tap the button once and your in aux mode that runs the radio without the engine on.
    Sport come standard with:
    Push start
    tow package
    winter floor mats
    heated mirrors
    heated front seats
    very thin skid plate
