Your not the first or last one of us that has wrecked one believe me I know. It sucks but you will get through it and move on. Think that truck is done. Hope everything works out for you.

I wrecked mine a few years ago and was bummed about it, but as I was taking pics in the tow yard I was still thinking "man that's a sweet ass truck, even smashed".

    Glad you're alright, brother.

I'm no expert, but I'd call that truck totaled if I've ever seen it.

Rest up - aches and pains are coming in the next few days to a week.

I'm really hoping that it is totaled out. Its gonna be hard to come up with my deductible and payment at the same time.

I just went through a similar incident. Mine was not totaled. It was close, but they ended up doing almost 14k worth of repairs. Luckily it was at an extremely reputable shop. These things hold there value. My airbags didnt go off, and the adjuster said if they had it would have pushed me over. Good luck, but most importantly everyone is ok!

    Cheers,
    Kyle

I might have been going faster than I think. But I was stopped behind him with him and another car in front. They both started to go. He took off very quickly so I assumed He was going to go. I never shifted out of First gear and by the sound of the engine I was not above around 3000-3500 RPM. In my experience driving this truck thats around 10 MPH no faster than 15mph.

I just talked to the adjuster and he sounds like he they are going to do all they can to repair it. I just don't know if I want the truck back. I'm worried about hidden engine or transmission damage. It was really hard to get it out of first gear to get it into neutral to push it off the road.

It is called a crumple zone. Designed that way to prevent damage to the people inside.

Yeah, I'd wait for the final word bud - don't stress until he 100% tells you their plan.

Again, personally that looks like a whooollleee lot of damage - for sure front engine damage, for sure frame damage, entire new front end body-wise, probably a bent door or two. When they fix it, everything has to be back to PERFECT, and I see that as really hard to do with the amount of damage.

Take it easy man! Let us know how it goes.

Accidents suck, been through 2 major collisions. As long as you are ok, that's all that matters.

Look at the bright side. If they are going to fix it, talk to the body shop & get your sport hood. You know you want to! ;)

Glad you are ok. I think it looks worse than it is but maybe its because I have fixed a few wrecked cars. Not sure why you might have had a problem with shifting it after the impact. Got any other under-hood pics?

New Navigation DVD/CD/TV/AV/Bluetooth Stereo and seat mod spacers, 1" hubcentric spacers, seat heaters....
Even if they total it, someone will buy it for salvage and rebuild it on the cheap with recycled parts. Front end is crumpled high up and it looks like the frame went under the bed of the other vehicle....the main worry would be engine damage....

Its totaled. Air bag deployed and its 4 years old. They will not fix it.

And there is no way that happened from a 10mph hit. That's closer to 30ish.

That's some bs dude, same thing happened to me about five years ago. I was on my way to school making a right on red onto a four lane highway. I looked left and saw everything was clear except the outside lane and the guy in front of me started going, so I checked left again and started rolling... Smash. Dude stopped for no apparent reason. No damage thank goodness. Although he was a real dick hole.

There's no was its 30 I have a 5 speed manual. I never left first gear and to hit 30 the engine would have been at the rev limiter. My revs were somewhere around 3000-3500.

I was accelerating when I hit him. Never hit the brakes. He rolled 10 yards before he stopped his truck again.

I'm meeting with the Insurance adjustor today. He's going to call me when he gets close. Then I can hopefully convince him to total it if he's on the edge of fixing it.
