Just stick with Camburg, Allpro, Icon, or TC. I think there are a few others, but these are all well proven designs using common off the shelf uniballs that can be rebuilt/replaced. Don't know anything about Fabtech's stuff.

Don't get the longer shocks unless your doing the shackle flip and springs like @ragincajun35 did because you will be bottoming them out when compressed
Curious, did they bottom out or over extend?

Aha! I was wondering what the catch was to buying long travel. What I also have to get extended brake lines?

Sorry over extend. But it was only after I flipped my shackles like you said.

Better in terms of control, sure. Better in terms of cushy comfort, doubtful. 3" lift? A qualified yes, depending on what springs you wind up with and maybe how installed/setup.

I might add a shell down the road but right now nothing. I do tow a pop up camper a lot and haul fire wood.

I would say spring (pun intended) for the all pros. They will give you a good ride dude. While you are doing it I would recommend doing the u bolt flip. Don't forget all of your bushings and carrier bearing drops. Cheers

Looking at headstrongoffoadroad.com it also seems like the OME 3 inch lift is about twice the price of the bilstein 5100 lift. OME is about 1200 and Billy is about 600 unless you get the billy performance kit, but even that is only 1100...

So you are telling me the balljoints serve as limit straps, yeah I don't think so. That makes no sense at all.

I think he said "limiting factor" as in the ball joint will run out of travel before the coilover has extended all of the way. This is accurate. When you are pulling the suspension apart you have to undo the two large bolts underneath the spindle and loosen the lower control arm to allow the suspension to drop all the way out. It is not until then that the spring completely decompresses and the coilover is free to be removed. That means that where the spindle and OEM upper control arm meet at the ball joint is the limiting factor for the stock front suspension. The travel can be increased by the addition of an aftermarket UCA that will allow for more articulation by utilizing a ubiball system rather than an OE type ball joint.

I know what he meant, I just don't buy it
I have a hard time believing the UCAs serve as limit straps by design. I'd love to challenge this, but my truck is very far from stock and so I can't.

If this is accurate (proven by seeing this in person) you would think factory balljoints would be failing left and right, at least for those who offroad and use the travel in their suspension.

    I'll put it this way...

When I installed my standard travel kings with the stock upper control arm, I had to use the factory jack, inverted, to force the spindle down far enough to bolt in the Kings.

I took the spacer out of my shocks when I rebuilt them, netting another inch of down travel. With my Camburg uppers, I still can push the suspension another half inch beyond where the rod end is on the Kings with little effort.

Tell me again how the stock UCA's don't limit travel?

I'm about to redo my suspension, right now I have 5100's/ Eibachs (620) with 1/2 top spacers on both sides and rear 5100's with AAL. I ordered OME kit with 886's and full Dakars on back. I chose this because I added a plate bumper and have a winch and rear bumper coming in soon. Had the trim packer installed for the lean, my question is should I go ahead and add the 1/4 spacer or leave it alone. I got everything pre assembled so it's direct bolt on. Also the only weight in the back will be my rear bumper and off and on Undercover SE.
Edit: I do have LR UCA's

The trim packer alone should take care of the lean, but I think there have been a few people who said it didn't. I'd keep a 1/4" spacer handy in case you need it.
