HUMM! Backed off 2 turns on the headlight adjuster and just took it for a ride in the dark, much better. I still don't understand why there is a perfectly horizontal line about in the middle of the windshield where the bottom of it is lit and above it is dark, I doubt that they can adjust that out. That may be something I have to live with, at least I now have it where it seems to be drivable. Crazy, I had it at the same setting before and added 2 turns because it still didn't suit me, backed off the two turns and now seems pretty good. ???

As for the fishing: virtually every cast we are picking up weeds that are floating down the river. If we could keep the lure clean it might help. I think a lot has to do with water temp. It seems when it hits a certain temp. in the fall they put on the feed bag. Last year our best night was in Nov.

:pccoffee: Another day, another 10 hours in the bucket lift. I'll be glad when I tow this beast back to the rental center. My body is getting a workout!
Sure, come on up! I'll even get some Kutztown Sasparilla. (I'm doing trees here too while I have it.)
Yes more stable, plus you can take a bunch of tools up with you much more easily, and it even handles two people in the bucket. However it is not exactly solid! It waves around up there, moves back/forth maybe a foot and I can get it bouncing up/down that much too or more when I'm scrubbing. Gives me 'sea legs' after a while, if I close my eyes I can feel the motion.

Yep Rob it's pricey, about ~$1K for a week, 200 something a day. But compared to the price quotes I got to have the house painted it's a screaming bargain.
That sounds like the low beam cutoff. Maybe they are 'improved' headlights with a sharper cutoff than your older ones. It drives me crazy too - I can't wait until cars get by so I can hit the high beams again. Not to mention the two 7" Hellas in the grille!

So yours is the same way Dave, I thought it may just be a bad batch of headlights. Wonder what the thought process is behind that, and if that cutoff can be changed somehow. Just like you are saying, it's really noticeable on low beam.

Here's 1/2 of the surf and turf; still working on getting the turf part! :D

 Morning Dave @wdb and Carl
Mine have that abrupt cutoff line too, but I thought you were seeing something else. I don't understand why you'd notice such a difference from your originals on your 2009? My truck is 2007, I think I recall noticing it when I first bought it; but I guess I've gotten accustomed to it. I run with my fogs and low beams on most of the time, especially on backroads. I may have the fogs aimed a little higher than OEM since I installed them myself. :anonymous:

It may have been there, but if it was it may have been higher and surely not as noticeable. I really can't complain about the original lights and wouldn't have done any changes to them if it weren't for them starting to melt and the recall. I never even tried to adjust them because they seemed to be OK.
Like you said, if it would have been as bad as it is now, I would have noticed it right away when I first drove the truck at night. It sure is different looking out of only about half of the windshield.

Question! Approximately where is that cut off line on your windshields?
What I am noticing on mine, it's about right in the middle of the windshield.

Sorry Carl, missed that last part before. I'm pretty sure you're describing the same thing; middle of windshield is a pretty good reference. :notsure:

    Carl,

Found a pic on file here. This is FOGLIGHTS + LOWBEAMS. Should give you an idea of the location of my cutoff line

    Evening all:
Thanks Rob. Like I stated, the ones they took out weren't as bad. I can't believe that they would even put lights in a vehicle that are like these. They must have had them somewhat out of adjustment because it was horrible driving at night. Since I "fiddled" with them it's much better as for seeing what's out ahead, but now I guess I know what it must be like to drive a chopped 50's Merc.!

Anyone notice that as we get older, it gets more difficult to see at night? Not that I have that problem...or so I don't think I have!

I never noticed how my headlights were aimed, as the streets are very well lit here. Island I grew up on though, very dark, and few cars, so I was always using my high beams. I don't think I've ever used my high beams on my Tacoma here.

Snapped a pic of just the lows last night under very dark (and no snow) conditions. I'd forgotten how little light the low beams throw without the fogs providing some fill-in effect.

Just drove home from hunting and was on a windy back road with plenty of dips in it. Lights are way, way, better. Still have that stupid line, but at least now I can see what's out in front without having to be almost on top of it.
    Still haven't even seen a tail! :(

good to hear your lights are better. Did you go back to the stealer to ask about them or did you just adjust them?

 means the tails are safe!!! :anonymous:

Any of you guys with grand kiddo's, did any of them have acid reflux  and need to go on medication?

Didn't go back to the dealer, after making a few adjustments on my own I don't think they could get them any better than what they are. UNLESS; they could raise that low beam cutoff line several inches!
WHAT! You still rooting for the deer, I look at them as sausage on the hoof!

I guess I don't understand this lamp issue unless it's the replacement ones. You want the beams on the road and not on the trees etc. would it be more like a narrow beam driving light your referring to ?
I guess I'm going to have to take a night ride and see. However if I do that and not notice it before but do after I'll be pissed.. Lol. Thought never came across my mind ..... Oh well.......
