Soo I was trying to Plasti dip my emblems on my truck and well, I dunno. I've tried it twice today, both time I'd spray a coat, wait 30 minutes and spray another, I sprayed at least 7 coats both times. Anyway, when I go to peel the over spray off, around the letters (I taped everything off) I'd peel and it wouldn't just break of at the letters. It'd take all the covering off the letters too, leaving them bare. What am I doing wrong? Sorry for the long post, again.

Maybe your putting it on to thick? Watch some YouTube vidoes first. I did 7 really light coats. About 10 minutes between each
Edit: and peel outwards (if that makes sense) when it gets close to the letters

Yeah if its too thick you are bridging the gap between the letters and the body. There needs to sorta be a gap between the two surfaces, or at least not be really thick there at that transition zone ...

Time in between? I really did try to research I swear. Glad it's easily redone.

you can try using adhesion promoter wipes just where you wan't it to stick. or before you remove the tape/excess paint, use an exact-o knife and cut out what you wan't to stay so it doesn't peel off with your overspray.

I think it's too thick and you're letting each coat dry too much. Just wait like 10-15 minutes between coats and do like 4 or 5 coats. I've done emblems a few times and it seems to peel away from the edges better when it's not totally dried.

Tried again tonight, did as said above, same problem. Do I need to lightly sand the letters? Clean better around them? Or am I just that stupid?

That's not what mine does, mine just goes straight up the letters. Tomorrow I'm gonna clean it really good (toothbrush + ?). Maybe scuff it up a little. Mine looks like it's just an uninterrupted slope down from the letters to body. Like they're connected.

Yeah tooth brush it, thats what i did. Just try not to bridge that gap with the plasti. Keep your spray pattern straight on for the most part, try to avoid spraying at too much of an angle when getting the sides of the letters so you dont fill that letter to body gap. When u say uninterrupted slope, do u mean before the plasti or after youve sprayed it on? If you mean after youve plasti'd it your simply applying too much!

After each coat go around the letters with a toothpick. That's what I did, and had no problems with removing the overspray at the end.
