Went to the dealer yesterday was told no AC TRD OR will be an option with manual.

    Anyone here something similar?

Yeah man I know about the DC, but us single folk don't need a DC and would rather have a 6ft bed. :)

Can someone A) take pics of the interior with the manual? I haven't seen that yet. And B) maybe video how that hill assist thing works? I have had manuals in 3 vehicles before and am so used to the roll back. I really want to see what it does live.

If I don't run over 100 to at least one call every shift it tends to be a boring day at work. #jbtproblems :burnrubber:

    My cruiser averages ~11mpg.

Looks like my build date is gonna be around Nov 11th. We'll see. :fingerscrossed:

Sorry for the lousy photo, but it should give you an idea of what it looks like. The hill assist holds the brakes automatically for 4 or 5 seconds until you pop the clutch. Its a nice feature, I think. If you wait too long, it releases and you suddenly roll back, which will scare the piss out of you the first time it happens.

I don't even really notice the hill assist.. I didn't tend to let my cars roll back anyway and as soon as your press the gas pedal it deactivates the hill assist and technically then you could roll back anyway (I have while playing with it).

Yes, or you can use the handbrake like I have with my last 11 cars. The hill assist is only activated by the clutch and footbrake interaction.

The "As soon as you hit the gas" part is what is killing me with it. I can't seem to figure out exactly what throttle position triggers the brake release. I normally want a quiet, smooth, low-RPM start with very little gas. Once it's in gear and my foot is off the clutch i'll step on it a bit to actually accelerate. Light pressure on the gas pedal doesn't trigger the brake release on a hill, and finding that magic spot for the throttle will take some getting used to.

It's like the truck expects me to rev it to 3000rpm and pop the clutch every time. I'm sure the hill assist wouldn't get in the way of that :)

Oh weird, mine is as soon as I put any pressure on the gas pedal. If I get lazy I'll easily roll back. I don't notice it hindering my ability to start smooth and slow off the line at all. I can't definitely see why you wouldn't like it then!

Yup :) Rangers have a foot-operated handbrake that is useless for that. I'm used to being quick and gentle with my feet :p

How many miles do you have on yours? Mine is still brand, BRAND spanking new, I've had it less than a week and the gas still feels very mushy. My old trucks had throttle cables, if you rabbit-kicked the gas to the floor with immediate release, they'd rev to about half-redline as expected.

I think my new Taco (love that name) / ECU is still in learning or eco mode or something. It treats a blipped throttle like an input error and only goes up a hundred rpm or so. That input lag is probably messing me up just as much as the hill assist is :) Getting better though, I deliberately went and played in a hilly parking lot this afternoon on the way home from work.

I live on a mesa 500' above town, so I'm constantly going up and down hill. After a week, I don't even notice the interface anymore....you just get used to it

Do you still have push button start with the manual? Is the shifter in a good position for a average height person?
