I'm really glad this one turned to corner too! I've been on other forums where someone posted something that EVERYONE chimes in on correcting them and it goes to hell in a hand basket after that. Props to the OP for keeping a cool clear head!

^ why wouldnt you be able to put the spacer on when you install the lr uca? if you have anything less than a 3" lift you can do it to get the 3" lift. when you put them on you are taking away about another 1/2" of down travel.

and im guessing from your description on the other page you have the 885's already, my only question is are they not getting you the 3" cause they are meant for more weight on the front such as a winch or something? sagging already maybe?

the closer you get to 4 inches of lift using spacers, coils, and shocks the more prone you are to breaking something. want a 4" lift get some spindles just my 2 cents

Didnt see this question....Yes. When useing an after market UCA that can accomodate an increased angle, you can use a small spacer on the top plate. The LR UCA's, Total Chaos, and Camburgs all have more range of motion over the OEM UCA's, and can handle the 1/2" top plate spacers.

I am currently running 885 coils, Bilstein's set to 0 and using the top plate spacer. I have the old 885 coils so mine have sagged quite a bit. With this set up I believe I got about 2.5" of lift. The ride is stiffer than stock but I like it.

There is another member on here who is running the Bilsteins at .85 with the 885 coils. Hopefully he will chime in about the ride/problems he has had.

Packerfan is running his like that, but he also is running TC UCA's. He is at about 3.5" lift.

OK sorry I took so long guys. Did the install yesterday and found a few things out. After removing the stock springs and struts and did a comparo with my new stuff it was obvious that the new springs were much longer. Also, with 5100's set at 0" the perch was postioned higher than the stock bilstein which pushed the spring even higher up. I couldn't imagine setting it at .85" without having to compress the hell out of the springs. So after finding out that I did in fact have the "x" 885's I decided to play it safe and set my 5100's at 0". But I did try and using the top plate spacer. I was able to get the assembly installed but it wasn't easy. I had to seperate the UCA and tie rod from the spindle and jimmy it into the LCA with a prybar. Once installed it was evident that I would have clearance issues between the spring and UCA upon strut jounce and rebound (see pics) since there was literaly 1/8", if that, of clearance between the two. I gotta say though that the truck was about 3/4" higher than the other side (3" Revtek spacer) but it just wouldn't be worth the risk. So I pulled the assembly and removed the top plate spacer.
As I sit now, I've got the 5100's set at 0" and no top plate spacer and I'm roughly 1/4" higher than the Revetek lift. As far as ride quality I can honestly say that it is a world of difference. It feels like I have a suspension now. It does ride a bit bouncy but it just may be that I was used to having the stiff spacer lift. It feels cool though like a truck oughta ride. I'll post a profile pic later.
Sorry for the long post and thanks for the interest.

You mentioned the 0 setting placed the spring location higher than stock.

I just installed my Eibach 1.6" springs at 0 on the 5100s last week.
On the first one I put the lower collar that sits on the 0 clip in upside down. This moved the location up about 1/2".
I noticed it when I was doing the second one.
Make sure the collar slips down over the location clip.
If you can see the clip flush with the bottom it is upside down.

    Just something to check.

Good to hear! After a week, if the sides are not even, you can get a 1/4" spacer for the driver side, to bring it inline with the passenger side. THe OME springs are not side specific like the OEM ones, so you may have to shim to account for the extra weight on the driver side.

alright sounds awesome! interesting to hear that you ended up not going the .85" route with the 5100's since you seemed very set on that. but in any case good job with the install and enjoy the new suspension man!

Hey bud, Like OH-MAN mentioned, you need to check your lower spring perches ASAP. From what it sounds like, you might have installed the perches upside down. The 5100's are identical in height to OEM, and you where saying that at the "0" position, they were different in height. The only thing that could cause this, is installing the perches upside down, which can cause a failure of the strut assembly.
