Ok, so I also heard back from the dealer regarding Limited/Sport Upgrade differences and here's what he said. With the Limited you get:

    -Premium embossed leather seats
    -clearance and backup sonar
    -premium JBL 7 speaker stereo
    -chrome side step bars
-dual automatic climate control (as opposed to dual zone automatic air conditioning) anyone want to tell me the difference here!!
-Chrome exterior mirrors, door handles, and Chrome surround grill

No Canadian models come with the tonneau cover.

I think I'll stick with the Sport Upgrade and go with aftermarket leather and a tonneau cover. Thanks for all the info!!

White, my salesman says he will call me as soon as the Delivery Truck shows up and will get a picture of it on the truck for me.

Scheduled delivery date to the Dealership is October 19th.

White Limited would be my other choice!

It'll be nice to see the differences.

    Took a DCLB sport for a drive today with a moonroof. Thoughts;

-I am 6'1" and it was no bueno as far as head room goes with the moon roof. I think if you are 6' or above it's no bueno, and forget about wearing a ball cap if you are over 6' whilst driving. Close to 3" less head room because of the moon roof. We have a new 4runner with the height adjustable seats which solves this problem. The Taco needs height adjustable seats!!!
-Truck is definitely quieter inside, noticeably less road noise than the second gen.
-Stock stereo still sucks. Shitty that we cannot get JBL in anything but the limited
-This new motor has less pull off the line compared to the 4L, but is sweet once you get above 80k.
-The 6 speed auto is great, smooth shifting, same as motor- it really shines above 80kmph. You have to hammer it off the line, odd pedal feeling you have to nearly pin it to get the motor working.
-Nice fit and finish of the interior, a definite step up from the second gen
-New motor and trans, and some different pressing of sheet metal but overall the truck did not have the feel of a full re-design, more like a thorough refresh. The cab seems the same. Same storage compartments under/behind back seats, etc. (Gen 1 to 2 taco and Tundra were full re-designs, IMO)

Overall the '16 is nice truck but I drove away in my 2009 and did not yearn for the gen 3. I have have a greater appreciation for my 4L motor, it's a great motor!
The price seems in line when you look at how our dollar has tanked, but if our buck was par this is not a $45k truck. Toyota has always had this mid-size market figured out, and are obviously not stepping outside of their pattern of success with the gen 3.

For what it's worth I'm self employed and leasing is definitely the way to go. My truck is covered in dings and and scratches and I pay very little for it a month. Which is a total tax write off. I'm 3/4 through my lease and I get to just hand it back.no questions asked. No penalty and walk out with a 2016. I'd say if you are self employed..leasing is 100% the way to go... and for those who like to mod...switch back at end of lease and your good. Also if you get an accident against vehicle. Who cares..you just hand it back

And also who wouldn't buy out at the end of the lease. ...almost every time your truck is going to be worth more

Just an FYI, a local dealer has a "DCSB TRD OR" that is actually just a TRD Sport. It was brought to attention by someone at the dealer who happens to be on a forum I frequent. Apparently some of the DCSB manual TRD Sports are showing up with the wrong TRD stickers (this has happened in the USA too). So, if you see a DC OR, it's not actually a DC OR. You can tell instantly because it has the scoop, air dam, and no locker.

On that same vein apparently my friend of a friend that bought a 2016 had massive issues registering the truck because Toyota didn't give it a proper VIN. I don't know the whole story, but apparently Toyota Canada became involved and he almost wasn't able to take the truck home. So far Toyota seems to be having a few sloppy issues with the Tacoma's coming to Canada.

When I told the Salesman what I wanted he said I was in luck because they had the exact truck coming in their first allocation. This all transpired about the first of October.

My Truck is currently somewhere between the dealership and Annacis Island so the Salesman says it may come in on Saturday meaning I should be able to pick it up on Sundays, but I think early next week is more realistic.

This is what happened to me, the truck I want is in Toyotatown Langley's second allocation which will be delivered Oct. 22. Hopefully I can pick it up that day!

Apparently a Mag Grey TRD Sport with the upgrade was delivered today. My salesman isn't sure if it's been sold but I may go take it for a nice drive tomorrow if it's not.

Thanks for that info on the tonneau cover. I still want the Limited for the upgraded sound system (which cost me $2000 on my wife's Subaru Forester for an aftermarket setup). But $4000 over the Sport buys a lot of upgrades.. Oh well, I'm just gonna do it and go for the Limited when unsold trucks are on the dealers' lots and I'm not paying MSRP.

So for the 9000th time, the only long beds available in Canada are the Limited and the Sport, correct?

This is wrong AFAIK. I test drove a DCLB Sport this week and it had dual zone climate control.

The TRD upgrade package gives you dual climate control. The Limited gets it as well.

How do you tell the difference between dual zone climate control and dual zone A/C?
