I have an Avid light bar and it's not an armored bumper, that's for sure, but it's a nice place to mount lights. I'm a big dude and I can stand on it with no flex. Great for shopping cart deflection due to the wraparound design. It works as a pretty stout brush guard as well.

I've mounted lights on bumpers before and sadly every one of them ended up stolen or damaged by dirtbags. I wanted lights on the Tacoma too so I did the custom grill with the light mounting bar that allows me to mount them behind it. Keeps them safer from thieves as well as vandals.

That won't give you armor but it can give you a light mounting point while you save some loot while sorting out the armor issue.

yeah. I have the sliders that bolt on to the tube step holes. If somebody hits me, well then they have to pay for the damage. If I hit something, well then, thats my fault:) But they certainly will stop a door impact, which is why I got them.

Sadly my factory steps did nothing for the plastic shopping cart I had to watch go towards my truck while paying at Toys R Us. The fat fuck before me couldn't burn 6 calories to walk it to the cart return and it was windy. So I had to watch as the cart slam into then ricochet down the side of my truck. Steps did nothing to help. Glad Toys R Us had video in the parking lot though.

:annoyed:. you should see how far away I park when I go places. I have 3 levels of protection. 1)park far away. 2) sliders. 3) color matched door mouldings(incase its a door that gets past the sliders):D

Windy night at 9:00 at night it was only me and the other person in the store. Figured I was good to go. And I parked at the end spot, and downhill the cart went about 30 spaces at my car. She wasn't happy when my insurance company called her insurance company he he he. Gotta love store video

Just a few dings that were areas that they couldn't use PDR for and a few clearcoat scratches. Insurance company said it was about 750.00 to fix. Kept the check and put colormatched door protectors on for now. It covered two of the dents.

Yes I was. Once I put my lift on, and new wheels and tires. I am going sliders. Other people's doors seem to hate those

    Rick,
Are those color matched protectors a Toyota part or aftermarket?
