Thanks for the info! That does make since to do it right the first time. Did the KB Voodoo steel caps not line up properly with the relentless fab bars?

I use 3 relentless bars (tall version) for Mt. Rainier and it's pretty solid. becuase of the length of the tent I have a slight overhang, but with myself, wife, 1yr old daughter and my dog (60lb boxer) we dont notice any flexing or instability in that area. The goods....

What do you mean not line up properly?

I have basically the same setup (kb voodoo caps + 2x tall relentless bed bars + tepui ayer) and this setup works perfectly. The thing to note though is because the OEM plastic side caps are thicker, you will have to make a shim to go between the bed bars and the side caps (there is about a 1/2" gap since the side caps are perfectly flat) OR you will have to drill the bolt slots on the bed bar mount plate so that the bolts line up when the bed bar is sitting flush with the side rails.

Only have a driveway shot but you can kinda see the two bars. My camping shots are too far away as well. The tent is currently stowed in the garage.

Started running mine at all times now that I have the cap and am not working in Los Angeles so parking structures aren't an issue. I'm realizing that the need for Dakars is real.

Question for those with CVT tents.

How do you mount the tent so that it folds off of the back of your shell or bed rack? The holes for bolting on the tracks on mine only allow me to mount it so that it folds off the side. Do I have to drill new holes?

    I have a Mt. Cayley.

I don't have a CVT but my tepui required me to drill new holes. The EEZI Awn has tracks going both ways.

I did it by accident with my kukenam didn't have to drill anything just threw the bars on and wasn't paying attention to the orientation of the ladder. I lived with it for the weekend but I don't like it off the back if the truck

It looks like I may need to drill. Darn. Maybe @Cascadia Tents can shed some light.

I think it might be a Mt. Cayley specific thing. It's 48"x48" so it wouldn't require cutting. Just doesn't match up.

...speaking of drilling, although I'm a fan of aluminum, I don't like drilled aluminum "shavings", and my RTT has a continual supply of drilled "shavings". I can vacuum the tent, close it up, reopen it and the mattress has a new scattering of drilled "shavings".

Any of you guys have a problem with the tent cover zipper? Used my tent last weekend and when I packed it up the zipper on the cover no longer "zipped" together. It seems like the runner on the zipper would be the problem and not the entire length of the zipper, but I'm not sure where to start for repairing that.
