    I bought a 2016 Tacoma Oct 15, delivery expected Oct 20.
I am in Ontario and insured with TD Melonche fyi. The story I got is that I am not able to insure my vehicle because the VIN on the truck is not registered with IBC (Insurance Bureau of Canada). This registration is the dealers responsibility, and my insurance company tells me all Tacomas in Ontario are having the same issue. Just wondering if anyone has ran into the same problem, or not, and how they dealt with insuring their truck.

Its frustrating because I am not driving my truck off the lot without Insurance, and the VIN is definitely correct it is on the bill of sale. According to this you will also have problems getting plates if the VIN number is not registered with IBC.

Any chance when u get your truck you would want to sell the mud flaps if you don't want them?

NVM not wanting to drive it off lot, if you're financing how is the dealer even letting you take it without having full insurance on it lol.

Also which dealer and where abouts in ontario? I wanted to check them out at the dealer now but not many have any, Scarborough toyota only has a limited and access cab SR5 base

    ah too far never mind.

but otherwise, best of luck with this issue. Might just be because they are brand new and nothing has been registered yet. give it some time maybe?
