Yesterday I got the news that it would possibly take over 3 months to get the truck that I ordered in. Because I sold my truck last week, I was desperate to get any tacoma truck, so I decided instead of waiting on the 3rd gen, I was going to get this 2013 DC dsg 6spd supercharged that I was scoping on CL!
Then... As I was working on the details with my bank to purchase the used truck, I received a call on the other line. My sales person told me that a new tacoma truck came in. She said that it was brought in as a showroom demo, but her sales manager decided to sale it instead, because it had a manual transmission. I said I should check it out.
Because the island of Kauai is big on Tacomas, I dropped everything, came in to the dealership right away and picked up this beauty! I didn't care much for the tech pkg, due to the sunroof, but I decided to pull the trigger and get the very 1st Gen 3 tacoma to hit the garden Isle! Cheeee

I just made history!! hahaha jk but I really did!

Congrats. My wife and I went to Kauai in July. Seeing all the Tacomas on the island really got me itching for my own. Now I have a DCOR coming on 10-27. I wish I would have had one instead of the rental Jeep Unlimited when we made a trip to Mahaulepu beach one day. That dirt road is brutal!!792a365dec1ca11e69a69cd21bb1c0ce_8644840cac539d3a4c93b4291b793137e1cecd53.jpg

I never driven a gen2 manual but in comparison to the 09 frontier its shifts much smoother. It's like driving a car. Was hoping to be torquier but I guess a supercharger will fix that! Aloha

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. But then again, how can u not! haha I can see that you ignored the rental company disclaimers about taking the jeep off the pavement! :D

Yep, I used my finely tuned selective hearing (married 20 years) to ignore the rental car lady.
And yes, I would move to Kauai in a minute if I had the chance. Unbelievable beauty and the people are as as nice as I've ever met.
