    I had a ford focus, front wheel drive. I just had the two blizzaks on the front. I never even came close to getting stuck in snow/ice with those things. They were awesome:D

    I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
    Nokian WR's are awesome and you can leave them on all year round (if you wanted to). Had them on my wifes focus for 8 seasons

    Years ago when we only put snows on the drive wheels of cars and trucks, I only put snows on the fronts of our SAAB. It was awsome going in snow.....but during one storm while driving down a hill, a car looked like it was pulling out of the drive in front of me. I hit the brakes pretty hard and started spinning like a top. After the spinning stopped I found myself point back up hill. I care fully drove back to the tire dealer and had two put on the back. When I just had them on the rear of my truck, it was amazing how much braking and turning I missed when I finally smartened up. I am glad that everyone puts them on all four wheels now.

    I have Yokohama G072s for a dedicated winter set. Very happy with them, and they were not expensive at all.

    My summers are Hankook Dynapro ATMs and have the mountain/snowflake symbol but I doubt they would even compare to any dedicated snow tire.

    I have had several sets of AT tires that were ever bit as good in snow as snow tires...good mud tires make good deep snow tires. But, like you, I still changed to dedicated winter tires because of hard pack and icing conditons after a snow fall or two once the frost set in and everything was frozen underneath.

    i have bf goodrich rugged trails:spy:. no problems in the snow last winter.

    You must have low miles to still have those!

    My '11 has just under 90k and I just put its 3rd set of tires on!

    I am shocked :humble:....the OEM Rugged trails on my 2015 Taco are just an all season tire for me. I commend you on your driving expertise. The tread depth is the same as all seasons and for me they perform no better in winter. I change over to Altimax when the real snow begins. I don't even think they are a real AT tire.

    doesn't help with braking, which is one of the main reasons for snows.

    I have michelin x Ice3 on my car, they work great. Not sure if they make them for trucks too though.

    and damn you got a decent amount of snow already for October.
