Electronic application of a brake, is it not? Just like on most of the high performance snow/ice cars?

Another advantage of the OR is that it has a 8.5" diff vs 8" in the Sport. Unless it's a Sport AC with manual transmission which gets the non-elock version 8.5 . But the OR's heavier diff, no air dam, and different tires cost a bit of mpg.

It has been said many times by Toyota officials that they all have the same ring gear.

I don't take a second look at Sports. I always look back for Off Roads, especially if it's a 4x4

Kate Upton vs Rhonda Rousey. One is all look no substance. Other one looks great and has all the substance. Just my opinion.

One's a more plush ride and won't put me in an armbar I'm forced to tap out of. Personal preference.

The OR gives you more options and one is operate the exact same way as the Sport differential. Generally, you don't use locking differentials in ice and snow. You tend to loose control. Just a matter of having and not needing.

I like the smaller wheels for rough road travel and the tougher upholstery if the OR.....it 's two of the reasons I chose it over the sport. It should ride softer too with the smaller rims.

Tires makes big impact on ride quality. Sport and off road have totally different tire and wheel size. Comparing those and then changing the tire would invalidate the comparison.

Normally off road suspension are softer then street tires to allow more travel. The kevlar tires on the off road model have much stiffer sidewall to resist puncture and unfortunate gives much rougher ride.

Hitachi owns Tokico. Tokico are known good brand in street application.

So for OP I would think the off road would gives you better ride after you change the tires.

With so little difference in price. The OR would appeal to me more....you will turn more heads too from those who know the difference.

Do you really think the difference in capabilities from the sport to off road is that huge? #1 locker .#2 stock tires wheels. #3 softer spring rate.not trying to be smart but are there anymore differences ?:crapstorm:

Kate vs Rhonda that's tough, want them both !:drool:
How much $ is it to get the off road with body colored bumpers? prem /tech package. again not trying to be smart just for information.
My taco,V6 tow package, trd sport value package, etune plus, exhaust tip, all weather mats, MSRP 34,000.
the off road on the lot with comp packages was i think around 2,000 more and it still had chrome no prem/tech package.
again not being smart , just trying to help others have all info to make right choice .
if i could have gotten the off road, body colored bumpers, tow, for the 31,000:crazy: i would have, but my upton is hot:drool:.
