Which tires are recommended??

I'm not sure what the difference is besides price. But which one to I need for my 08 DC??

 

I would go with load range D tires, they will ride better than the Load Range E tires. THe load ranges have to do with the sidewall stiffness(I think correct me if im wrong) and how much you would be towing or hauling.

 

In turn, burning more gas??

 

The difference is load rating. The 'D' is a 8ply, the 'E' is a 10ply tire. A load D is more than adequate for our little trucks. I have load C tires(6 ply) and tow over the max tow rating with no problem. The higher the load rating is, the rougher the ride is gonna be and the heavier the tire will be. As mentioned, the increases rotational mass will reduce fuel economy a tad and also make acceleration slightly slower as well.

 

I recently put on 265/75 load range E and I have noticed a difference in power/mpg, but I can only compare to the stock 265/65 tires. I wish I would have gone with D seems to be the best option.

 

im running standard ply 265s with no issues at all.even pull trailors.rides great to.less $ as well.

Discount tire and 4 wheel parts price match, so find then cheap online then take the website to the store and have them match or beat the price. I got the best deal w/install and rims at 4 wheel parts .


Go with the lowest load rating available, not less than 2300lbs, to maintain your ride quality and mpg.

I have P-passenger rated Nitto TG all terrains which are rated at about 2500lbs, my stockers were 2300lbs, so my mpg didn't change and my ride remained plush. The traction of the all terrains was much better than the dunlops I had.
Also the lower load ratings will usually be cheaper.
