In their defense, they didn't know about the range prior to the purchase. You can't see it from their house, and my dad doesn't shoot a whole lot. We were out a couple of weekends ago and the neighbors came storming across the property line throwing a fit about all of the shooting near their house. Then they saw the range, saw that it wasn't a new thing, and realized that they'd made a horrible mistake, lol.

Thanks! I didn't know that about the 45 fitting a 9mm as well. I'd definitely go that route, then.
I've been semi-curious about a supressor for a while now, the neighbors are more of a catalyst than a cause, you know? But they've got me considering one more seriously :notsure:

Sorry, personal lingo. I look at the NFA trust/tax stamp as essentially being a permit. My bad. :anonymous:

Yes, I'm sure it'll help rush the gov't, haha!
    Thanks for the vid!

    Thanks for the vid!
I don't get to see a lot of the 147gr stuff around here; it's all the basic 115gr stuff. I know I can order it online, or if I feel like trekking to Cabela's they've usually got some, though.

Thanks for the responses, guys. Gives me a frame of reference for while I'm considering it.
Maybe after the holidays I'll start saving my nickels and dimes for the NFA & Tax Stamp. :D

Long as you are legally allowed ot shoot on the land and are shooting during allowed times (if any apply in your area) the neighbors really have nothing they can say.

Pistol suppressors use "piston" systems. So you can change pistons to use it on different guns and calibers. The pistons can be pricey (around 70 bucks each) but compared to the cost of the can and tax stamp its worth it. So definitely look at a 45 unless you plan to get more cans (i have two 45's and 9 myself for pistols

Id start looking now. Get a trust and find a FFL who has the can you want. Get the paperwork started on it now. It takes a awhile for the ATF to approve the stamp and its only going to get longer in the next little while. Depending on your FFL you can usually pay for the can in different ways. I know mine will do just a percentage down when submitting the paperwork with the rest due at pickup. Worth looking into it since waiting longer now just means waiting longer overall

Also when getting your trust be sure to include your parents on it. That way you can leave the suppressor with them if wanted and they can use it.

i actually wish I'd gotten a 9mm TiRant and not a 45, just for the smaller size. I've yet to shoot it on a 45 and doubt I ever will. It lives on my 9mm Glock 19.

I appreciate the sentiment and applaud you for voicing your concern for this individual. As a former law enforcement officer, let me explain.

You are as good as your training. Showing emotion in such a situation where she has to discharge a firearm is a sure sign of either improper training including not enough, or poor assimilation of that training. Assuming all that was said is true, she should receive the same and worse retribution from a superior. This is a public display of poor preparation and does not endear her as a competent law enforcement officer on display in front of the public. It was not in said in jest.

She needs more training, not sympathy. Again, this was genuine concern and criticism for a situation where lethal force is on display. A police officer must display herself as the most competent authority to use lethal force and not be put into a situation where a civilian is compelled to offer help. I know that some people think of her first as a women and understand her feelings having to kill an animal. But she is not a woman. She is an authority figure......a policewoman. I may see her different then you. If she had been a man, believe me, he would have received the same criticism and more justly so in some eyes.

As a policewoman she has a duty, not only to represent her self as a properly trained protector of society, but to represent other police men and women these civilians may come into contact with. Now, not only she, but any other women wearing a uniform has represented the next female police person as emotional and ill prepared to use force in a safe and legitimate way. She needs more training.

I speak as a military and state police academy graduate and a retired law enforcement officer who has been trained, worked with and helped train other officers. She needs more training before she is put in a situation where she must use lethal force.

Situations using deadly force must never be detached emotionally but with the first thought of public safety. Dispatching the animal was along those lines and should be represented that way, unemotionall. That's how we were instructed at the academy. If she has any emotions to display, she or any policeman needs to be trained to show them at the appropriate time. Discharging a firearm should never be on displayed as OJT.

For a pistol suppressor it's tough to beat the griffin revolution, but don't take my word for it!

I suppose if you alredy have nightstand gun and carry gun, another pistol would be less useful than making your sbr more functional.

Is there much difference in recoil between 9mm and .380? I'm thinking about buying my gf a handgun for Christmas. She doesn't mind shooting my g19 but hates my g26. I was thinking about getting her a g19, a compact .380 or a 22lr semi auto handgun.

It would be used mostly (probably only) for plinking.
