Right on! You get those coilovers cranked down to a manageable level? How was it installing the shocks while pressurized?

They still need some fine tuning. Think i need to lower them a bit more still. Thanks for the use of the wrenches.

Installing the shocks wasnt too bad. We bolted the bottom first and because of @Bentrodder size he could fit in the wheelwell and just hang on them like a baby chimp. :boink:
    Worked pretty slick:D

I told him just to sit on top of the leaf spring, but he was afraid since his feet wouldn't touch the ground..

    Nice!!

Thought they all came pressurized? lol It's pretty easy, I always bolt the top on then just lay my weight onto the LCA. Less chance of cross threading the top bolts.

    Definitely looking good.

Well, looks like I might be buying a welder this week. My brain wont leave me alone about it. Its a purchase I've been meaning to make for the last few years. Currently looking at:
    Miller 190 Autoset
    Miller 140 Autoset
    Hobart 500559

Id love to buy a 220v welder, but i think right now its just not in the books for me, As much as i want to buy once cry once, the price, plus the electrical work involved in getting a 220 outlet installed in the garage, plus I'm not going to be doing any major fabrication for a while just isnt a sell for me. So i guess its time to start making metal stick together.

Any of those machines on your list will be good. Hobart is just rebranded Miller and are usually lesser priced but still great machines. I haven't played with the auto sets at all but the reviews of them are great.

Yea alot of the reviews I've been reading are saying the Hobarts seem better than the miller 140s. 2 minute weld times with an 8 minute cool down shouldn't be problem, I don't imagine I'll be running and long beads anywhere...mainly looking for something I can burn gussets in with and install sliders and such. Might as well start now so I can work on my own truck :D

I'm still on the fence between the Hobart and Autoset though. The autoset would be nice as you just set metal thickness and go, and the prices are pretty close to make it worth it. Will just have to see what I can find online and order

Wish I'd seen the 63 conversion when I was building my MT prerunner, would have totally gone that route back in the day. As it stands, the BAMF kit with Expos runs great as well with some weight in the bed. I think I was pulling about 11 1/2" of travel in the rear...shocks were valved wrong, but I just made do with the compression adjusters

Saw a sweet red doublecab longbed with a Cascadia camper on the back at Altamont BW. Didn't have my phone to snap a pic.

That would be a fun place to have a meet.
