Based on what sirsaechao said, you could assuming just snip one lead incase you want to put it back one day incase of a resale perhaps?

So I just did this mod and the buzzing is gone, the dome light still illuminates when the door is open but I did notice the "safety unlock power door locks when keys are in the ignition" function does not work anymore. No big deal for me.

What I did notice (and I bought my 03 Dbl cab a year ago) is that the previous owner cut the red and the red/black wires under the steering column and electrical taped it all up.

Does anyone know what this mod might be?

I messed mine up one day and even when I closed the door it dinged so I put a rock in the little rubber thing over it. It quit but needless to say i left my lights on because it didn't remind me. Haha

I just did this mod the other day and realized there were a few thing that did not work right afterwords.

    1. The auto lock/unlock did not work anymore, no big deal (this was previously mentioned by T gunz)

    2. The auto unlock if the key is in the ignition and the doors are open no longer works, just remember to take the key with you when you get out, again no big deal.

    3. ****This applies to you guys that have an automatic transmission****
If you do not put it in PARK you can still remove the key and walk away. THE ELECTRONIC SAFETY LOCK FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO BE IN PARK IS DISABLED. Which means YOU CAN TAKE THE KEY OUT WHILE IN GEAR and your truck will go for a drive without you in it.

**This could be especially bad if you have a small child in the vehicle.

I almost found this out the hard way pulled up in a parking spot and my phone stated ringing I answered it and hoped out of the truck and it rolled about 2 feet. I was lucky I was not on a hill.

Before you unplug something know what it does and the risk you are taking.

You don't need to remove dash!!!

Lie on your back with Needle Nose pliers, don't wear a hat. It will be tight and uncomfortable, but I just removed mine in 5 seconds. It's close to the plastic dash part, near e break lever.

AWESOME! I have a 95 Tacoma sr5 and unplugging the clip stopped the door buzzer, but still does the headlight buzzer. Which is great cause I always forget to turn the lights off on rainy days.

So I've been reading through this and I need a little clarification because it seems like people are discussing two different ways to do this.

If you disable the buzzer at the fuse panel, like the picture below shows, will the following still work?

1)Auto unlock if you lock the doors with the keys in the ignition.

2)Alarm if someone tries to unlock a door, say through a wing window (it happened to me one time).

3)Dome light still comes on when door is open.

Is that door buzzer also the same buzzer for the headlights, or is the headlight buzzer a separate one? Id like to not loose the "left your lights on dumb ass feature..."

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
My light shuts off when I turn key off and open door while the headlight is on the on position.

I think that was a new feature for 01-04. My lights also turn off when I pull out the key and open the door. Pretty sure the "headlight" buzzer is not present either. Now, I can turn my headlights back on once I have opened the door but have to rotate the switch off then on.

just be aware you are "breaking" this buzzer off of the circuit board and doing so "may" break something in the circuit board which is very expensive so its a risky way to do it.

if you really want to remove the buzzer from the circuit board rather then just unplug it :notsure: well the only "proper" way to do it is to remove the circuit board and flip it over then unsolder the two pins holding it as you gently (and safely) lift it off the board. this has no risk of damaging the board itself.

the best way to disable the buzzer is to unplug it or cut the green wire and you can reconnect it later on at any time if you need to sell the truck.

I understand. But by unplugging or cutting the green wire I just want to make sure all the stuff I mentioned still works.

well breaking of or removing the buzzer from the circuit board means you have no buzzer for anything.

as far as I understand it, unplugging the plug "may" disable all the buzzers just like removing the buzzer will, but just cutting the green wire only disables the door buzzer while the headlights on with door open buzzer still works. at least that's how I understood what they said.
