So what's up with Toyota removing the rear driver seat pocket and driver sill handle. I will live with out them, just weird. Skipped for cost reasons or design? I use my window sill handle a lot on steep descent and bumpy trails and just getting in and out of the truck.

Seat pocket missing just seems inconsistent. Can anyone else confirm this, they forget to put in my truck. LOL.

What is the "drivers sill handle" you're talking about?

...That grab-handle was removed to allow Toyota to put in another side curtain airbag....there is a small circular label up there now explaining that fact.....

...But have no idea about the missing pocket....sorry.....:notsure:

I just checked, both sides have Airbag symbols in same place. Think you are wrong on this. I will be figuring out a way to add a handle to that side I miss it so much. Maybe this comes standard on the Limited! :)

...Well...I too liked the handle...so asked the service-dept about WHY it was gone...and they told me about the curtain airbag there...

..only thing I can guess is there is more than one on the driver's side...and screw the passengers?!......

...My only suggestion is better check with service before ya try to put anything up there for a handle in case it sets off airbag or becomes scary shrapnel if airbag ever deploys?!.....just sayin....

Bet I didn't use the bar to get in or out of the truck more than five times in the 10 years I had the 06 Tacoma.

I'm glad there isn't a driver side handle. Don't need anything that could possibly either obscure vision or just be annoying seeing it in my peripheral vision. There wasn't on in my Frontier either.

I don't know how tall you are, but at 5-10, I have no problem just stepping in and sitting down. lol

The truck is a tied fit in the garage so the door only opens only so far! I use the step bar and the handle to slide in without banging the door against the wall.

That and apparently the imaginary back seat steering wheel is still there as well. My wife was using it the other day when we took her son home! Too bad there's no "cone of silence" surrounding the driver seat!

I'm sure it has to do with airbags. The older toyota trucks had 2 oh shit handles on each side. One above the door and one on the pillar. Then they did away with the one over the door for the air bag. Now it sounds they did away with both. I use mine everytime to get in my truck.

No need to tie up your truck. It shouldn't run away from you.
