No problem. I just remembered I had that. I considered 275s as well. There's really only a small difference in size. My local tire shop had the 265s on the shelf in load range C, which I preferred. I also have room for snow chains up front with the smaller tires. It's a big adjustment for me - I down sized from 285s.

...I'm really wanting the 34X10.50s, which happen to be the same weight as the 275s and are a load range D apparently....but I don't like the idea of power and mpg loss. hence why I'm stuck in limbo. my application would be fine with a load range c, just want them a little taller than 265s to look more proportionate to the size/length of the dclb, and stuck on KO2s as I've had great experience with KOs in the past and I like the new sidewall design.

I understand. I was amazed at the power gain going from 285s to 265s. It's funny, I don't really remember noticing the loss when I went bigger. He old tires were load range D. They were OK but stiff compared to my new tires. I very glad I made the change. The smaller tires made a huge difference in drive ability and comfort. The transmission even shifts correctly now.

I haven't measured it. It's a little better - maybe 1-2 mpg is my guess. I still fill up once a week.

@Abecker - sorry no 2" lift, but 265/70/17's on sport rims

    E932D9C7-C64B-4E06-82C4-C0EA375225D1_zps_f2d62e75fcefc33ba714a0858503ff32dc396e14.jpg

I will be happy with a front leveling kit.

My MPG has gone down overall about 1mpg compared to the 265/65/17 AT20's, however road handling is far superior in every way. I can corner hard and it still grips, where the AT20's would "push" and severly understeer. Very impressed with the on-road manners. Haven't yet taken them offroad.

1-2 mpg loss ain't bad IMO.

but the incorrect shifting doesn't sound comforting!

The shifting thing isn't that big of a deal. My truck drove great on 33s. It didn't like to stay in OD very well on grades. The shift points do seem shorter to me now.

ahhh, my fave color! this looks great. why does this look better than the "one on top of the other" comparison pic a couple posts ago? is it that tire size appears more appropriate for wheelwell space? sorry to the owner of that truck - I'm not putting you or your choices down, just reflecting on my preference.

I think I'm still liking the 275s though relative to body dimensions. don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of 6 inch on 35s, just not practical for me.

6" on 35's look amazing on these trucks, but i'm in the same boat as you. I considered 275's, but didn't want to fork out for a lift yet.

hey " el chingon" are those 33 inch a/t ko2? if so, did you have to trim any of the fenders? I have a 13 tacoma plan to lift it 2 inches and wanted to get KO2 tires put on but i'm wondering if i would need to do any fender trimming

This makes me want to replace the factory dunlop tires on my 2015 TRD Sport factory wheels, no lift.
Discount Tire Direct has these on sale now on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/361253086564
How's highway handling? are they noisy?
I don't do OR, but Seattle weather is getting wet and possibly snow coming soon. The factory tires don't handle wet road very well.
    Thanks

Highway handling is good, they are definitely stiffer, so they don't roll over themselves. I went for load range C (no point for E's on this truck).
They are a few db louder on the highway, but no louder than the wind noise, i forgot about it until now.
They are good in the wet (not as good as michelin ltx m/s2, but still good), and supposedly good in the snow. I would suggest them for sure.

    Thank you

Just to confirm before I pull the trigger. These tires/size 265/70/17 should work fine on factory rim with no lift, right?
    LT265/70-17 BFG ALL TERRAIN T/A KO2 70R R17 TIRES 29047

    Update:
I ordered 4 tires mentioned above, just in case they run out quick like last time :). Already got tracking numbers.

Anyway, I read through almost 44 pages. Some owners experienced balancing issue...etc.
What should I tell the technician when installing these tires at DT? (like Road Force Balance and 35psi?)

Chased some jeeps through the woods of northern MI this weekend. I've hard the tires for probably 800 miles before the trip and put on another 500. The road comfort or noise on the highway wasn't a problem at all. The tires handled some pretty crazy terrain. It went from freezing rain on the way up, to 3" of snow on the trails and then back to freezing rain later in the day. I ran the tires at 35 psi (normal road pressure) while on the trail and they didn't really have any problems. The trails weren't crazy, but definitely pushed the limits of a stock truck. Came across some sections that fully flexed out the rear suspension while climbing a 10 - 15 degree hill with snow, I already had it in 4 low and between the tires and the locker being engaged it crawled through with minimal slipping. Also came across a mud pit that was steep enough to bend the 7-pin receiver underneath the bumper, the tires climbed right up the other bank and got me out without any drama despite dragging part of the frame and stock skid plate. Overall a great trip and the truck or tires didn't disappoint.
