I'm not sure you grasped that article but that probably explains your " I've never read anything convincing " comment

7 billon and growing people on the planet. sucking and digging everything they can sell or use. then blowing it up or out of a stack or pipe, for 200 plus years. i'm sure this has no ill effect on the planet. hell we caught a river on fire back in the 60's ,we treat this place like a temple.

Flat lander here..ha. But I live in Worcester, MA. Most snow in the country last year!!! Always have weight though. I use those plastic totes filled with sand. That way it keeps the sand dry if I need to use it. And I have a bed extended and cargo bar to keep the totes over axle. Only bad part is no room in bed for use. But not usually using bed during storms. Hope this year you guys get all the snow instead of us(the way its always been and should be)

P.S. that is a 4' tall Toter trash bin

Besides, it's Mass. And you flatlanders have tarred roads. ;-)..all of Mass is flatlanders...

Like your picture ! Kids love it .....before they grow up and hate it.

Oh I know we are. Have a ton of customers in Maine and they love calling me a flat lander. But I love Maine. Sunday River every year for a weekend or two. We didn't have your sons luck in Worcester. It stayed all winter. I love snow and all that but last year was ridiculous!!! Of course I sold my sled the year before because of never having enough snow here. Always had to travel to ME, NH or VT. Got sick of it and sold the pig. And what do you know!!!!! the very next year I could of rod it everyday almost. Could of taken it to work a few times even. Just my luck. Berkshires have some decent hills but still nothing like you Maine-iac's haha

I like a used truck inner tube cut it into two pieces. Fill both with dry sand and gravel, wire the ends shut, and throw the waterproof "sand sausages" against the tailgate. The weight helps a bit for traction but the real benefit is having dry sand/gravel when you or someone else needs it. I see lots of sandbags in trucks and for much of the winter they are frozen solid as a rock.

I buy 6 40# bags of good old top soil about a buck a bag at Home Depot for winter weight. Come spring I fill in holes in the yard that my dog may have dug throughout the year. Works good in deep snow for added traction when the plows haven't been out, since the butt end of a Taco is light, compared to the front.

I go with bags of salt for the water softener or bags of clitty litter.

I have 6 50lb bags in the garage. When needed in the winter I toss some/all over the axle. Excellent help with good A/T tires (Wranglers in my case) and if I did need traction, the contents of a bag is cheaply sacrificed.

First of all, everybody STFU about where they live and how much snow they get. I LIVE IN SYRACUSE!! You hear me bishes!! SYRACUSE! We average more snow than all you other posers combined! We make the planet Hoth look like Hawaii!! (That was a lame Star Wars joke) We just got 6 inches on Sunday! None of you know $hit about snow!!

Ok, all kidding aside......Im just poking fun at the pissing contest.

But seriously, the only thing I can add to this is the necessity of keeping the sand dry. 15 years ago, I was a broke college student with a RWD Dodge Ram. I had 3 tubes of sand in the back. I went up to some mountains to go shooting and got stuck. I tried to spread the sand down and it was like breaking open a bag of concrete that has been outside too long. And dont think for a MINUTE that you will break that frozen sand up into usable clumps. Keep your sand dry. That being said, this is my first truck since. I wasnt planning on adding any weight due to the 4WD option, but I may now.

Trust me Evil I know you guys get the most. Always amazed that on my news in Massachusetts we always hear about the "Syracuse lake effect snow". All the time !!!!!!! But last year I won. We finally beat you. And us here in MA usually don't have much to brag about(not that getting the most snow is something to brag about anyways). Sp lease take over the honor again.....ha

P.S. We got snow Saturday also. Just a dusting. But it was fast and furious. Also freezing past two days

Sorry it took me awhile to respond. I have this on the front so that it has a 2" receiver sticking out of the bottom grill. It's great for a D ring I bought off Amazon. Now I have a winch and tray I put on when I want to off road, but remove for daily driving. It's a pretty sweet gig.

True for the US, but as you may be aware, there's another country slightly north of you, and we all find it really funny when you complaint about a few inches, just saying... ;-)
