    I did share that with him and his response was "95% of Tacoma owners never see any heavy or off-road use"......probably close to being true.

    I didn't flush mine until 140000 miles and it was running/shifting fine before I did it and still running/shifting fine now after I replaced the Toyota WS fluid with Valvoline MAXLIFE 1.5 years to now. BTW the old fluid did not smell burned and was not dark red either.

    With the last automatic I had, I was told that if the fluid hadn't been changed before 80k miles, don't bother.

    Hello all and thanks for having me. I am on this thread because I am one of the goobers that accidentally drained "some" of my tranny fluid while trying to drain my oil pan. Did not take long to realize by color of fluid, what I had done. I would say no more than 16oz purged before I put drain plug back on. Is this amount a "no worry" situation or do I need to get busy here with a top off?

    Thanks to all and I look forward to your words of wisdom.

    Just realized this may be better suited on a different thread. If so, I apologize.

    2014 TRD Off Road Dbl Cab Auto. 20k miles.

    I would absolutely top it off. There are two great threads here on TW that will show you how to do it. Some trucks have reportedly been slightly under filled at the factory, couple that with an accidental drain and you're asking for trouble. Definitely fill it back up and do the temp check mode.

    Back on page 7 a member indicated he wanted something that was 1/2 or < than the cost of Toyota's WS.

    Cheapest I've seen is the Valvoline product which I have running in a couple of WS-required Toyota's. So far; so good.

    The product in the following URL interests me. Made available by the company that makes the transmissions in our trucks(A750E/A750F) and cheaper than the Toyota WS.

    I suppose the shipping would kill the deal. Will look around in my area for shops that carry this fluid:

    I stumbled across it awhile back. As mentioned, Aisin makes our trucks transmissions(A750E/A750F).

    I'd love to see Toyota brush this product aside.

    Oddly enough, I now see a lot more offers on ebay for Toyota WS, shipped to you door w/o charge. Unit price is better than what I saw say a yr. or so ago.

    My '06 Avalon turned 200K a few months ago using Toyota WS, so it couldn't be too bad.

    my buddy tows his travel trailer with his Tacoma and flushes his ATF every 10K because he tows. What I do not know is what he replaces it with.

    Mostly what I read is each person's opinion or speculation. Where is the science? If you bash something, have the facts to back up what you say. Otherwise, it is just one person's opinion vs another person's opinion. WS has been around a few years.
