I want the calipers off this kit, because the rotors for it are 5-lug for the X-Runner. Anyone know how big the wheel is for the X-Runner? Wanting I could put them on my 6-lug TRD OR, but I doubt I will just find the calipers. Looks like you would have to buy the kit and ditch the rotors. Cheapest I could find for the kit was $1940.21. Maybe I need to look in every junkyard for an X-runner that might have it? Or maybe its far more cost effective to just get equally as good calipers and rotors and just paint it? If so what do you think I would be spending?

I don't think they make a BBK for 6 lug tacomas. I think you might be able to use the FJ kit or the Tundra kit, but IIRC the X runner and Tundra kit require 17+/18+ rim size because of the larger rotor. You could probably buy the kit, and swap the rotor out for a 6 lug rotor, but then you're basically just buying a red TRD caliper lol. Just paint your caliper, get a good set of rotors and pads and call it a day :D

Will the BBK from the FJ or Tundra fit the hub assembly bolt holes? Wouldn't be too hard to find 17" rims though.

As far as I know all the toyota truck 6 lugs have the same bolt holes/hub measurements, So 4runners/FJs/Tacomas/Tundra's that are 6 lug can swap around rims no problem. Although there might be backspacing issues on some.

I think I've heard fj and tundra brakes work as well, and tundra is sticking out more in my head. But wait for someone else to confirm :p

Same here, the tundra one sticks out in my head, but I think you have to run 18" rims for the tundra one. The FJ one had an issue...i wanna say it was something about being 4 disc brakes and the kit is more expensive because its all 4 calipers, or something along those lines...I don't remember exactly. People have been dying for a 6 lug tacoma BBK for years, but Toyota just refuses to do it. TBH, you can get different upgraded Rotors/pads/Calipers for about the same price or a little more and get WAY better performance out of it.

trudra brake swap worked on 1st gen tacos n 3rd gen 4 runners and was a pretty good upgrade (you had to be sure to choose the right calipers)

Not sure that they would be an upgrade or any where close to bolt on for the 2nd gen taco.

Heres the thing though, doing a BBK on a Tacoma isn't really getting you much for the money...a larger rotor, maybe barely slightly larger pistons? Its still a 4 piston caliper, right? Im telling you, you'll see way better stopping power with say an EBC Stage 5 kit.

Read they are 4 piston vs our 2 and are made from billet aluminum.
