So this is posted on the Dealer's website for the Tacoma that I put a deposit on:
    • Premium and Technology Package - Includes features from Premium and Technology Package and adds Entune Premium JBL Audio - $2330.00
In the first discussion with my dealership the salesman said JBL package was included but I got to looking at the Spec Sheet for the rig I reserved and it makes no mention of the JBL package. I'm calling them in the morning to discuss the discrepancy.

    How would you approach this?

I believe both Entune Premium Systems good but the one with the SUB Woofer is an additional $700. One is six speakers, the other 7 JBL speakers.

IMO GEt the JBL System. The Sub is definitely worth the additional money, It "completes" the system and sound great unless you want door rattling bass that can be heard a block away...Then you have to get Amps and a couple 12s and tighten up all of the truck's fasteners, nuts and bolts....

The sub and amp may complete the system but they are not worth 700 dollars. They are junk an will not produce much sound

I guess I was under the impression that I got the JBL package with the sub & amp since the dealership specifically mentioned JBL. I wonder if I can negotiate a better price since I misunderstood...ha

Don't listen to the naysayers with an "opinion" based on what???

. Those of us actually who bought the Sub Love it and feel it's money well spent. Others can blow $1900 on their aftermarket body rattling ghetto crap.

The Stock JBL system will be fine for everyone who ordered it. I have yet to read of buyer's remorse from anyone who actually bought the JBL System. Only those who don't have or want it making presumptive reviews of something they don't want.

That said your misunderstanding is not the dealer's fault. All the Documentation is clear what package is labeled the "JBL System"

But don't take anyone's advice blindly here.......Find one with the JBL System and use your media and make your own decision. That's what I did.

I would not have bought the truck without it. I don't care for aftermarket systems and installers.

I'd give the salesman a call first to verify. My salesman didn't put it on my order even though I specifically asked for it and he confirmed, so I called the internet team(my friend works for them, so that helped) and asked her to check with the manager, she got the lady on the phone that does the allocations/orders and she apologized for my salesman being an idiot. Luckily I had emailed them exactly what I wanted before I agreed to a price, so I'm getting it without having to renegotiate.

You might have trouble if you don't have anything in writing, but make sure you ask for something in writing once it's done. If they give you a hard time, threaten to take your money to another dealership.

That was my biggest worry when my truck came in.....Did they put the correct package in it? Few will spend the extra money for a music player in a truck. I wanted to make sure I saw that little Sub behind the right rear seat and breathed a sigh of relief to find I got what I ordered.

But it makes more than enough to reproduce music accurately...at far less than ear splitting volumes

If you're not an audiophile or bass junkie, the 2 door speakers in the base version do a decent enough job. You won't be setting off car alarms, but you can hear the music over the road noise just fine at 80mph.

    Thanks for the constructive comment.

The dealer's website, the salesman, and even the Toyota build site only mention that JBL is an option that is added to the Premium tech package. It wasn't until I got the datasheet for my order that JBL wasn't mentioned. After searching online, it was a non-toyota site that suggested all Premium Tech packages in the TRD and Limited options were JBL (just not necessarily the amped version).

Excuse my ignorance...I'll be leaving this forum because my newbie stupidity.

The fact that you misunderstood has nothing to do with your ignorance especially because it sounds as though you were misled. What I find asinine is that you would try to negotiate because of your own misunderstanding/stupidity.

Yeah, I'm not sure why people always feel the need to make it known that the stock audio equipment is garbage compared to aftermarket.. yeah duh. Thing is, the stock stuff isn't bad. Some stock premium audio systems actually are pretty decent and more than adequate for most people, myself included. I was taught this first hand by my own car, 2006 Z w/ premium bose sound, my friend's T4R w/ JBL premium system and another friends 2006 BMW 650i w/ Logic7 system.

I had a $3k aftermarket system in my previous truck.. two amped JL 10's, 4 amp'd JL door speakers and a nice Alpine headunit. Shit was nice and blew all of the stock systems I mentioned out of the water BUT even after having that I think those stock systems are nice. Plenty nice enough to have in a car which is a terrible sound stage to begin with... ambient noise is through the roof. If you want serious SQL you need to look into a home entertainment system or some top notch cans. An automobile is not the place for it.

OP, I recommend getting the JBL system if you want a subwoofer and don't want to go aftermarket.

That's why I put HA at the end...it wasn't meant to infer that I was going to try. It's tough to convey a tongue in cheek figure of speech in text format on a forum. Maybe I needed to put in a bunch of those smiley things.

^^^ what he said. The JBL system "was" in my truck as was heated seats and all cell phones can charge without a wire (all BS from the sales guy) ... the sales guys and dealers in general LIE ALL THE TIME. So the OP has a good point, everything is negotiable all the way up to the time you sign the papers, don't let anyone tell you different.
