I'm a RADAR tech, but I also work on weather instruments, FM radio's, and various obscure Linux based computers. Ten years in the Army playing with missiles was enough for me. It is interesting to see how everyone earns a paycheck. It's funny, but I can't think of anyone that owns a 4wd Toyota that I don't get along with.

In the Military, I worked with the Space Missile Defense Command (SMDC) and Army Space to control satellites with companies like Raytheon, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin. I got to see several of the satellites that are in Geosync orbit in person before they launched, and maintained them during their lifespan.

After I left the military I became a cop and worked a patrol station for 7 years. Then moved back into IT as a software engineer, and am about to move into a new job as an Information Security Officer.

Thanks! It was a blast in the military, I still miss it. Was blessed to be able to serve this country and even got paid to live in Japan for a couple years :D.

yea sort of. the larger programs always do some hiring for hourlys/ deckhands around the February. if youre looking for a pretty fun early spring to early fall job, ill give you the email address of the most likely program thatll hire you on. its not a guarantee, but itll be a start.

I was a tech on the Avenger, TOW, and Javelin as well as Sentinel Radar. I also worked in the Comsec shop for a while. You know how it is, an NCO with a clearance gets voluntold a lot. I'm glad it worked out that way, because I wouldn't have the job I do now without getting the experience outside of my MOS (94A).

I remember when the Avenger came out it was like something from science fiction. Especially next to a Chaparral. I look at them now and think "What a hunk of junk".
