Too poor to list anything interesting.
I'm still going to attempt chicken and dumplings. :D

If you want me to make a lot, I'll need a second dutch oven. One of them flat bottom ones.

I have a flat bottom dutch oven, but not a flat top one. Is that what you're looking for?

I'm thinking I'll do BLTs for Saturday Lunch... Maybe have the fixins and baggies out at breakfast time, so people can make their sandwiches and take them with, so they can be on their own schedule.

I'll bring my percolator and a bag of coffee as well. Can only do 9 cups at a time.

I hate to be Mr. Realist here...but its really looking like the worst weekend for this, which is unfortunate. I have really been looking forward to it, especially if we could have weather like last weekend.

Here is the current forecast: (Soure: wunderground: Gilmer, TX weather)
    Barnwell wx.jpg
That's about 2-3 inches of rain and it is forecast to be nearly continuous with the large low and front that will be coming through.

I do agree that this will be good weather for sitting under the pavilion up front drinking beer...don't know if its good for much else :notsure:

I'm reducing my chance of attendance to 50% currently...I know my camping gear will be questionable for these conditions.

There's a pavilion at the DFW camp that you could possibly set your tent up under. Rain is fun! :D

Contemplating just getting a room at the executive inn in Gilmer so at least we would have a dry place to listen to the thunderstorms at night. Would make meal share logistics interesting, although its only a 12 minute drive down the road, so really not much different than being in the tent at the campsite.

The rain is continuing to move up in the week. Currently no rain forecast for Sunday.

and now the forecast has the rain pushed back to be "lighter" on Friday, and heavier on Saturday...

Also, I don't see a pavilion in google maps where the DFW camp is marked. is it new?

I know there is a structure at SHR, and a bathroom nearby.

There's a shelter in the trees at DFW. David and I will scope out both sites when we get there Friday.

Yes. David knows where we're picking you up. We're stopping to get firewood on the way up as well.

Cool Beans. I'm thinking I'll leave the propane accessories at home... something about propane filled lightning rods in a thunderstorm..............

Yeah, leave the puffers at the house.

I'll have a propane torch with me if you really feel like playing with fire. I have a feeling it's going to come in handy when we need to light a fire. :D
