Mine was my quarter-life crisis vehicle (I'm 23)...

Not quite that exaggerated, but I always liked them and when my last vehicle was totaled I thought "Why not?".

Mom is 64 and has a Tacoma, Dad is 68 and has a Tacoma, aunt and uncle both in 70's both ave a Tacoma. They wanted a good solid truck and didn't have a need for a full size.

I am 60, have had a Toyota compact pick up since 1989 replaced it in 2002 with V6 Pre-runner. Going to replace that one with a 2016 Limited 4X4 in MGM. That's 26 years and about 500K miles between 2 Toyota pick-ups! So yeah I am sticking with what I know lasts/works.

Two things, you're buddy is the one who's weird... & why self conscious about driving One of , if not THE best & most reliable trucks/vehicles to ever roll off an assembly line....:notsure:

You're buddy is a tool along with small penis syndrome in reference to the "Big, full size truck" statement...

I am 71 and drive a Corvette and a Tacoma. So where is the age stigma?

Old man car and young man truck. Go figure.

I did trade a full size 4x4 in on my Tacoma. Sure like the smaller size for parking and general driving. Don't haul or tow heavy loads so why drive a big truck?

Yep. My last pickup was a '99 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4, manual, SCSB that would go anywhere except past the gas station. This one has a backseat and is only marginally more difficult to park (10" longer)20151009_164027.jpg

Around here, they never rust out. So I'm hoping that my Taco, VW camper van and KTM outlive me. My daughters are counting on it!

44 here. I have driven Tacoma/Hilux on four different continents. I have a 2013 DCSB now.
I am pretty much ruled by my practical side, and I would never ever allow myself to be defined by a vehicle status symbol.
I believe in putting my money where my ethics are. I'm just crazy like that.
I live in the suburbs and fish on the beach. The Tacoma is perfect for that. I go hunting in South Texas a couple times a year, still perfect. Driving 30 miles a day commute to work- still good in a Tacoma.
In fact, as long as horse trailers aren't involved I just don't have use for a full size. But rest assured- when I needed a full size, I owned a full size.

    Just my $0.02

66 here - finally old enuff for the government dole - except I still have a full time job................. The TACO is just right the right size for a "personal transportation" vehicle - I hate its dependence on electronic doo-dads, but just about everything is like that these days. The 4dr saves a hassle loading the mutts...... So far I haven't gotten it stuck - but haven't tried too hard - yet.......
