So I have just purchased a pair of Dynapro ATM Load Range E in LT265/75r16 without shopping around enough and figuring out i could also get the LT265/75-16 BFG ALL TERRAIN T/A KO2 75R R16 TIRES (i believe the load range is E also because its 10 ply) for only $40 more. I don't do a lot of driving during the week because I work only 1 mile away from home but when I go to visit family or go anywhere else I'm driving at least 3-5 hours and i probably do this once every month. I do a lot of Tahoe snowboarding trips and Pismo Dunes sand trips. I have heard nothing but great things about both of these tires(mostly KO2s) so i guess my question is would it be worth me sending back the Dynapros and getting the BFG KO2s? The weight of the KO2s are only 2 lbs more but i dont know about noise or wet traction with them. Any knowledge on either would be greatly appreciated.

Ran them both, running the ATM right now and it's the best tire I've ever ran

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Why load range E? Those are going to be a substantially heavier tire designed for supporting a much heavier vehicle then a Tacoma. You'll pay dearly for them in reduced MPG fuel economy.

Now I should say I have BFG KOs in E range (only because BFG stopped selling the size tire I run in any other load range and I setup my whole truck around that particular tire size... 265/75 r16). They are literally almost too heavy for me to do a roadside tire change solo. That much heavier.

Difference between D and E is negligible .. the E will last longer as well

The dynapro's are a good tire. Based on what I hear of the BFG's you can't really make a wrong decision. I've run the dynapro's for about 3 years and have gotten my money's worth and more. Where the dynapro's got me was the price, it was a lot cheaper to get the dynapro's than the other brands. And the quality on the dynapro's are really good for both the daily drive and occasional off-roading, as far as I've experienced.

To tell you the truth its because i got them for 100 dollars off and i didnt want to get the 4 Ply version just because they blow out soon or wear down fast i figured. Also i dont know if its a huge difference but the other is 13/32nds and these were 17/32nds. As far as a tire change i rarely do any offroading alone and even if i am alone i think ill be fine I'm 200lbs and I deadlift 400lbs haha.

I have the ATM's and they do everything I need them to do. Do just fine in rain and based on the tread wear at 8K miles it looks like these will last a long time. 315/70/17 load E at 67lbs per tire.

Well, for a good discount like that it makes sense. Definitely. And sounds like you have no problem lifting dead weight... I find 40lbs heavy and 80lbs just about kills me.

I have E rated LT275/70/17 Hankook ATm's and I'm not impressed with them at all in the wet coastal snow we get here

Haven't had them in snow, but with the way the el nino is looking I just might get the chance. They're great in the sand, I've taken them on the beach many of times aired down to 15 and the E sidewall really does it's job. Floats over the sand relatively well, noticeably better than the Hankook MT's I had before.
