@ letsgoplaces I'm in southern calif and put a deposit for a 7128A White TDR sport 2x4 AC with P&T and tow. Put deposit on 9-12 and got no info from dealer, so got refund a month later. Thought I would just wait awhile and try again later. Talked to a different dealer a few days ago and he said that build is still 6 weeks out, before they start building them. Would that be correct? Thanks

for that region. each region the allocation % is different for each model code.

only bad part about that, until each region gets saturated with models, pulling your allocation request and putting it back in later just means you go to the end of the line to wait again at that point in time.

@ NoDak Thanks for the reply. I understand what your saying. The dealer I was going to was set on MSRP, so that is the main reason to get the deposit back. I am willing to wait till it settles down.

This explains why I couldn't get a DCSBOR 4x4 Manual without the Premium package. They aren't building any yet. So I took a DCSB Sport 4x4 manual without the PP as the only one that was going to be available this year. Oh well, 10 years from now it will get modded however suits me best and starting from a slightly different spot will be forgotten. Oh yeah, I took red instead of blue, too.

Only read through the first couple of posts but... The 1st and the 15th is not true for factory orders. Factory ordering is usually the 10th of each month or as follows

Now with factory ordering, not allocation, it can take anywhere from 2-6 months for the vehicle to arrive and anywhere from 2-4 months to get a build date. I currently have on FACTORY ORDER a 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport Long Bed Double Cab for myself. Order was placed on 9/14 and I still do not have a build date. My estimated arrival time is 1/1-1/15.

For those saying Toyota does not do Factory orders, it is faster for the customer for the dealer to try and do an allocation to get the vehicle which it can take months less than a factory order. We do factory orders with my company through our Toyota dealer because we need the vehicles built to our specs.

I could not get jbl. Loaded dcsb off road with every option but jbl. Dealer told me to get jbl would have to special order and could be up to 180 days. Not worth that wt to me. Ill go after market upgrade. Oklahoma here. Pulling from allocation as others have said so i should have by end of month. Not wtg 180 days for jbl.

We do what we call preferencing, when we have a customer looking for something specific we set our preferences and Toyota will try to send what we requested on our allocation.

There is one allocated to a local dealer and it has a scheduled build date of 11/16

Toyota's media systems tend to be tied in with other systems. upgraded stereo is not always as easy or inexpensive as one might think

I guess that is going to be a rare bird. A local dealer in your area?

So I am confused with my order. My dealer has requested an allocation for me TRD 4x4 offroad crew cab quicksand with JBL. Scheduled for 11/3. But they said it is not guaranteed to be mine yet? In other words they don't know if they are getting the allocation for sure. I'm confused.

Another dealership in the region could be fighting for it. Time for Thunderdome. Two truck buyers enter, one buyer leaves (with a truck).

Thats weird, they have the ability to reserve it for you. It sounds like they arent sure if they want to give it to you or someone else OR they dont officially have it in their allocation OR they do but they have submitted a change request and it hasnt accepted yet.

Maybe I needs to talk to the sales manager and get clarification because I have a deposit down.

I had a dealer do the same for me. I contacted about 20 dealers within a 200 mile radius to see if they would build one like I want. They all tried to sell me what was on the lot, and basically ignored what I was saying (I understand that they want to sell what they have, but it was like they were not even listening). Went in to two of the dealers. The first one didn't look anything up but said "they wont be spraying the quicksand color for a couple months." Went into the dealer closest to me, said what I wanted and he looked up trucks allocated in California with the options I want in the color I want (DCLB TRD Off Road with only the Tow package, in either quicksand or inferno color). He found ONE being built for a dealer in Southern California in Quicksand, but said that it more than likely was for a customer already, and the dealer wouldn't want to swap trucks. So he looked at what he had allocated, and requested what I wanted in the color I want. The build date is 11/4. Told me once they have the VIN I will come in to do some preliminary paper work.

Unlike other manufactures that pump out vehicles and hope someone buys them, Toyota doesn't build a vehicle until it has been ordered. Either a dealership wanting a vehicle to park on the lot or someone ordering a specific request. Even if its a specific request the dealer will always look at other dealerships first. Or vehicles in upcoming allotments,
It takes us one shift to build a Sienna. Then to TLS where aftermarket parts are installed. Side steps, bedcovers ect. Then off to the dealers. The long wait comes with high demand. Toyota can't keep up with the demand of this hot new truck. 60,000 behind. Working 2 hours over each shift and mandatory Saturdays.
    I'm in the same boat.....waiting.

It called weighted average cycle time. we get a certain amount of time to put on our parts. Example. power hatches on the sienna. I get 89 seconds per van. A loaded van takes 98 seconds because it has much more elements than a manual hatch van ( no motor, no button, no anti pinch sensor) Obviously I cant do very many loaded vehicles before Im in deep shit. I rely on the non loaded van, which takes far less time to catch up.
They call it buffering or smoothing.
Does that make any sense at all...lol
I think I confused myself on that one.
