I don't do any towing. Bed of truck is usually empty. I run a camper shell in the winter and my roof rack + tent for summer wheeling trips.

Part of my indecisiveness is that I've read that 4.88 at 65mph will only increase rpm by ~300 versus 4.56. I don't drive much faster than 65mph.

4.56 would probably be fine for you then. But let it be known i'm still running 4.10 on my truck.

4.88s with 33s and an auto tranny is going to be close to stock.

4.56 will be okay but if you have plans for armor it will start to suck again.

4.56 with 33s and a manual is close to stock.

    id go 4.88s for you.

The front bolt usually needs to be replaced, the shackles shouldn't, try heat and penetrating oil.

Is it connected to the cruise control module?

I've got about 300 extra pounds of armor, winch, bumpers, and sliders already. I'll go with 4.88.

Thanks for everybody who chimed in.

    The supercharger is sold.

Anyway, I have no idea what's it's worth so you tell me. I probably have a few parts you would need. I'm going to part out the engine instead of sell it.

I love my stock gears(3.4l auto 4.11). I run 285x70xr17 and the gearing is perfect for my driving conditions. 80 mph is right at 2500rpm and i still get 16-18mpg

With 295/85-16s at around 70 I'm running 2000-2500. Mine was a pig before when I was running 235/85-16s and it didn't seem to lose much. Mpgs are around 13-14 going of odometer which hasn't been corrected.

It appears someone's tampered with this thing before, notice the gouges between the two bolt holes in the bottom pic

Thanks man! The hardened gray plastic stuff around the edges of the butterfly have me a little bit concerned. And this things definitely been fkd with..notice the burn scars from the gasket not covering the entire surface

Old gasket vs. New Teflon gasket
