NW WA Meet / BS Thread

We were just part way up that trail yesterday hunting. We hiked up north fork fortune creek and saw bear shit all over the place. I do mean all over too. I sat in some. lol This weekend I'm going to San Juan island.

 

Nah a stock truck can do it. Only kinda challenging part is one turn going up above the lake. Not sure if we'll camp up there or down by the lake.

 

My buddy Brynsen is going up to Gallagher on Saturday too, but he doesn't have a group to go with yet. So there is one more who can go with. Jerrad and I will be in the San Juans.

 

I think if I go it'll probably just be for the day so if he doesn't camp he can head back with me. He lift his jeep yet? Have him look up "the jk experience, northwest" on YouTube, it'll almost make you want to build a jeep.

 

He hasn't lifted it yet, i imagine it'll be soon though. He has put a CB radio in the jeep. Trying to get him to join tacomaworld cause he always wants to go wheelin with people. On dang, they have a whole series about jeepin in the nw, thats cool!

 

i need to install a CB in my truck, what are you guys running that works good?

 

Brynsen and I both have the Uniden Pro 520XL. its a great CB, doesn't take up much room.

 

They have some bad ass jeeps for sure. They did walker valley, Moses lake dunes, funny rocks/moon rocks, elbe hills, and TSF

 

yeah man im watching it right now, they are doing some pretty crazy stuff!

 

Anyone else want to camp? Might be kinda boring up there by myself.

 

My buddy said he wants to camp. i think it'll be him and his gf and another couple, is what he's telling me.

 

I don't think I will because I work Friday nights.. We'll see

 

Id be interested. For some reason i feel like i had something to do Saturday but i cant for the life of me remember though. Id just do a day trip though

ive got the Uniden 520xl as well and its good unit. I run mine with a firestik 2' most of the time though i do have a bigger firestik 5' when we are spread out more. Its a good and fairly inexpensive setup

 

So I'm looking at going and cutting down a Christmas tree in early December anyone know of any FS roads in baker national park that might pan out?

 

Back baker lake road there are a few, not sure how many are still open. I know the snowpark goes really far back and up to blue lake.

 

Do you know if you still need a special pass for snow parks here?

 

Most likely just a discover pass.. Possibly a NW forest pass because of the hike up to the lake. I always went back with no passes and never had any troubles but its been a few years.

 

It depends on the time of the year. Some sno-parks start Nov 1st, others Dec 1st. All depends on the winter really. There is a sno park pass which if i remember right is 20 bucks for a one day or 40 for a season. Season is usually Nov 1 or Dec 1 to April ish. If i remember right a day pass sno park still needs a discover pass but the season pass doesnt.

You rbest bet is to call the ranger district up and they will tell you exactly what ya need. Sno parks are annoying and i dont get why discover passes dont just cover them as well.

Course by the time sno parks start really operating a lot of the park staff is gone (seasonal for summer) so as long as you arent going right after snow fall (when they would plow) good chance you wouldnt see nayone
