Welcome, even though I'm from Washington! Good luck on the quick disconnects, I gave up on the whole bar when I felt how good the ride was without it. Just gotta have some coils that are stronger than stock so you aren't flopping all over the place.

Plus come on dude. You are not in a position in life to buy a project vehicle. How many tools do you have? A place to tear it totally apart and leave for weeks at a time that won't get in the way and posts you off?

Maybe I do like rolling! Nothing much would happen with it for a while anyways. Just basic restoration and getting it good enough to run the basic roads around here. I have all the tools for that and once I graduate I would either sell it or park it at my parents until I get my own place. Mainly, I would just like a beater so I can leave my truck apart for more than a few days. It gets old trying to schedule time off when I have to actually do something to my truck. It always ends up with me rushing to get crap done. If I had a little beater to buzz around in then I could do something over a week and get it done right.

Of course I am not jumping on it. That's not how I make purchases but I will think about it for a week. They are pretty sweet little rigs that are relatively cheap and fun to work on.

Your 4runner doesn't run, lol. There is a 4runner with 300,000 miles for 3k but price is very negotiable.

 

If you want a beater dd. Id look for something else that is simple but runs and costs very little to make work as a dd. Not a restoration project. Those projects ALWAYS end taking more work then you first think. And money.

 

Well the restoration part isn't necessary. A lot of that would just be me having some time and wanting to work on something. It runs and really the only thing I would need is a battery and cheapo tires. I'll keep looking around as I doubt it will sell really quick. The only thing I want to do to my truck this winter is pull my seats/carpet and install the sound deadener. I might re wire my sub then too.

 

You having some time? How often do you have time haha and of that time do you want to spend working on a samurai?? haha Im just not seeing how this fits with how you do things haha Pretty sure you'd rather go hiking or fishing..

Im all for a DD. But no a project DD. Just get something reliable and simple.

Id like to do sound deading in both my trucks.

Me too..well..i will be soon i think. Picking a turbo now. Looking at compressor maps. Everyone that has done a turbo build uses way too big of turbos from what im seeing.

 

Haha, yea everyone always seems to use a fat wheel... What exhaust/intake sizes are you thinking?

 

71mm on the turbine, kinda has to be due to motor size. Or 68,69 in a T3 housing with .58 A/R hopefully. No larger than .63.

53-58mm Inducer on the comp wheel.

From my calculations id make full boost a 2200 give or take with peak power around 4k. So definitely very streetable. Lots of turbo spool all the time

No worried about choking the motor either since the RPM range is considered low on the motor anyways.

Be good for 320hp easy which is i think the edge of the stock motor anyways.

I hate walking by my truck and seeing the MTR's dwindling to nothing. Interested to see what you go with. I might be replacing the 4 on the truck this spring and keeping the spare.

 

I've already got them picked out @BabyTaco As soon as tirerack has them stocked i'm ordering. 295/75/16 KO2. It's a 33.3 vs my 33.1 i have now so shouldn't be much more trimming, they're wider so i'll maybe need spacers... we'll see.
