Definitely something to keep an eye on at least. Since you've already contacted them at this point and they said it was fine, if there was a failure in the future because of this, I'm sure they would back it up. One thing about Icon is the great customer service... Had a hose blowout on a buddy once and he was back up on a fresh shock in just a few days. @MostEpic

Agreed, I've never heard anything bad about them and have no reason to doubt them. They've got a good reputation around Riverside.

Yeah, they'll stand by their product but you are shit out of luck with the install unless they did it... I don't remember there being a big rubber fucking tire for a grommet with the Icons I installed years ago, it was close as i recall, maybe put that big ass black hat underneath the bucket & the smaller one on top, it'd push it away a little but can't/won't comment on ride tho'...

Icon will not warranty any custom length shock. Any length other than their oem lengths. I just went through this ordeal and did not know this when I bought my extended length rear shocks. I am very thankful that SDHQ worked with me to fix the issue.

No worries, my man. That portion articulates as one piece with the mounting bracket. Deflection of the top of the shock is minimal. Your hose won't rub. Mine are the same.

    Don't over think it.

This is a standard length 2.0 so that shouldn't be an issue. I did buy from SDHQ also, and am very pleased with their service. Will be using them in the future.

Thanks, this is what I was hoping to hear.

@mtnceej You are good to go with those standard 2.0's as far as warranty.

Mine also has that big ass bushing and was difficult to get the nut threaded on. Myself, I'd do as suggested and grind a portion out to clear. I understand not wanting to do this though. I always hate doing permanent modifications on my vehicles. Yours is a lot newer than mine though so I'd :sawzall::welder:

When the axle articulates I'd imagine that section moves at least a little.

Unless shock is welded at the eyeletts
or really tight, yeah it's going to pulse & oscillate a little ...... & I HAVE seen connections like that shear off from making contact..... Angle grinder & 5 minutes , go on with life.....good insurance....;)

Here are my 2.0s, they have a larger gap than the pictures displays. In my opinion they fit pretty well. Did you find a solution to your issue yet.

Yours actually looks pretty similar to mine now that I went back and compared. If you're really concerned get a new bottom bushing or rotate the shock body. See if that helps...

If you have a written response saying it's fine and it fails they are liable for all damage that could be caused but those shocks if they fail. If you really don't want to worry about it I'll trade you my 5100's for your icons :D ahahaaha

Thanks for looking and thanks for the pic, I did end up rotating per other pictures I saw and it does tuck a little better in, but not much more than it was. I'm not really worried about it anymore.. Looks like other people have the same setup without any issue.. My first lift install, so overly cautious.

As far as grinding per other requests.. thanks for the advice, but not gonna happen. I'm 1 payment in, I'm going to keep grinding to a minimum :) Bad enough I had to bend the inner fender well to get the UCA bolt out.

Just noticed this, hey OP, can you just rotate shock towards outside bucket ? Looks like what he did here....

I wouldn't think so seeing how 2nd gen. springs are linear & equal distance from centerpin to forward hanger & centerpin to rear shackle meaning the "lift" is divided equally, shock location & angle shouldn't change enough to be an issue if I understand the question correctly...

But I'm just a stupid oldman, what do i know haha...
