On my 2006 I have more than 50k miles on TC UCAs with no squeaking. Lots of dust, road salt and mud with no squeaking.

I need to find a dealer like you up here in NJ. I'm going to be getting a new taco next year, and I'd love to have some customization done to it, but I want it to all be done before delivery so the full warranty applies. I've seen a bunch of Chevy dealers around here who sell lifted trucks with all sorts of aftermarket stuff, but can't seem to find any Toyota dealers who do.

 

Shore Toyota lifts Tacos new. But be prepared to pay double or triple for it. I don't understand the warranty thing. The Magnusen act or whatever its called prevents this. The dealer/Toyota has to be able to prove the lift caused the part to fail. More often than not unless its CVs (your angles will change and thus don't expect even a dealer to fix this) the dealer will not hesitate fixing it under warranty. I had my passenger side front dif seal leak with my 2011 at 52k miles on a 3'' lift installed by me, Liberty Toyota covered it with a rental car under warranty no questions asked. Like I said most 3'' lifts they wont bat an eye. And most dealers are referred to as stealers for a reason. You will get a less than subpar lift for way more than it costs or even a decent lift at an install rate and price way more than it should be. There is a huge group in the PA/NJ area that would be happy to help you install and would save you a ton of money than having the dealer install something that dosent matter in all actuality if it was installed by you or them. Know the law, do some research on here and be an educated owner and buyer, will save you in the long run and make you some new friends in the taco world. Just my 2 cents tho.

 

My problem is I have a really bad back and basically I'm useless when it comes to doing anything like an install. So I would have to have someone else do the install. And once I am going to pay someone to do the install, I'd rather it be the dealer. That way if something goes wrong with either the lift or something else, I just have one place I need to go and they cannot blame it on the other guy.

As for which kind of lift, I'm sure that is something I can tell them. Years ago when I lived up in New York, I had an MR2 Spyder. The dealer up there was all too glad to install all my aftermarket stuff for me. I would get the stuff shipped to me, bring it to the dealer, and they would just charge me the normal hourly install rate. This worked out very well for the reasons stated above. I would even discuss in advance what I planned to have installed with the mechanic (before ordering it), and he would give me his opinions on if he thought it would cause any issues to any of the stock components. Needless to say, I had a pretty modified MR2 Spyder which looked like something from the Fast & Furious movies, and all the service and installs were done by my dealer (and by the same mechanic in their service department). It would be nice to be able to find a dealer like that down here in South NJ.

 

A question for you, what would you pay for example: an icon stage 2 suspension lift with rear resi's and 285 70 17 Toyo open country at2 with 17" fuel trophy rims and the labor for someone to do it for you ?

My lift took me and my buddy 3 hours (aal, toytec coil overs) at a rate of $100 an hour for a dealer tech say $300 labor.

My tires on fleabay were the same 285/70r17 mounted and balance with tpms and 17 xd addicts were $1700. Add $300/400 given fuels are more expensive wheels.

Not familiar with icon lift but looks like without ucas $2000 but hoping done right so with ucas $2700, add dealer markup also assuming they can get slightly cheaper than consumer throu manufacturer $3000.

All said and done I'd say $5200-5500 extra if by a dealer.

That's a nice setup as far as a lift so not unreasonable, you'd likely save yourself $500 or so doing it yourself but some people dont have the knowledge or just would like someone else to do as a luxury they can afford @Letsgoplaces

 

Try Liberty, I love their service department the DCH toyotas suck for customer service.

 

3 hrs, used a chain-fall for the rear, floor jacks for the front, and air. I don't know if theres an easier lift to install.
