That's exactly what my dealer said...it wouldn't be a high volume configuration, but the configuration sheet was an indication that it would be built. He even suggested that he might be able to hasten it along by telling Toyota that he had interest and a deposit for a 7545 with the FP package. Obviously, my lone order wouldn't do it, but according to him, if there was a certain volume of similar requests, Toyota would adjust their output of certain configurations based on the demand. How quickly that happens, who knows. I figured I didn't mind waiting a while longer to get exactly what I wanted...hopefully, it's not too long. So, everyone go to your dealers and demand the same thing so I can get my freakin' truck. :D

No that's not what I meant. That's why I said DEALER build page. As in the website that dealers have access to to build your truck and see what is coming in. I built about three trucks using that thing and it will not allow you to select the JBL with a manual transmission. There isn't even an option. When I was building my truck(s) I watched the dealer select the options I wanted. No JBL option with any manual transmission

The Dealer build page only allows builds that are already scheduled (at least as explained to me by two dealers). Hence, one day you can get 4 colors with a certain option combo, and the next week you can get all of them like that. I ended up buying a different color and model to get what was more important to me

Right. As of last week, there were none built yet. The configuration sheet shows that it may be possible to get one built this way at some point.

I'm just saying I highly doubt it. I hope they do. I think it's stupid that they don't. I know for a fact though that as of now it's not even a selectable option

Your numbers are worthless without proper drivetrain info... I'm gonna go off on a limb and assume 2wd...

The only reason I would think there's a good chance is because the dealer gave me a configuration sheet showing the FP option package for the DCSB 6MT and told me that just because you can't build it that way now doesn't mean you won't be able to order it that way ever. I'm not arguing with you on the fact that you can't select the option now...I realize nobody (including the dealer) seems to be able to build it that way using Toyota's build configuration tools. I'll be sure to pass along an update once I hear back...

I'm sure I'll get flamed for my opinion but here goes anyway. It seems that the majority of auto buyers are complaining about lack of power and strange shift point. It also seems that the majority of a manual buyers are praising power.
If people are super critical about power management and shift points why the hell buy an auto? If you want to choose where your truck shifts buy a manual next time instead of being at the whim of some Toyota engineer.

I find the power to be adequate and is there if you push the pedal enough (ACTRDOR). I tried the ECT Power button today. Seems like a 'sport' mode and I like it for driving around town, keeps the rpms higher in the rev/torque band. I would not expect to use it on the highway. I only have a few miles on the truck but am happy with ride, performance and comfort.

Same here. Toyota is really weird about configurations. I'll pass out any info if what you said turns out to be true

I agree. I like shifting my own gears and telling the truck what to do. I've missed that for years having two 4th gen 4Runners. It is nice having the V8 though, so maybe that was worth losing the manual tranny. I'm sure I'll be more than happy with my 3rd gen stick shift once it arrives though

Exactly. I have loved every 4cyl Toyota I have owned. I can only imagine how horrible the power would feel if my current 2.7l had an auto.

Agreed, expect there are competitors that have V6 autos with more power, better shift position and better mpg. It's not like the complaints are asking Toyota to do something that hasn't been already been done...I think they are more along the lines of "hmm, expected a bit more...ya know, based on what Ford and Gm are doing." haha

A quick air dam removal, 2 inch lift and you can have a off road worthy diesel with gobs of power that gets you 30 mpg for about the same price as this Tacoma.

You mean the price of saving money? 200,000 miles at 30mpg at $2.50 price of fuel costs $16,666- Colorado/Canyon Diesel. 200,000 miles at 17 mpg at $2.50 price of fuel costs $29,411-Tacoma. That is a difference of nearly $13,000. I know a diesel truck will be extremely likely to maintain pretty close to the same resale value to a Tacoma as well.
