Get that fixed op. I think it's worth it. You spend all that money on a brand new truck, it should look brand new for more than its first oil change. I feel your pain though, a good friend of mine actually rear ended me a couple months after I bought my brand new 12.

Same thing happened to me last week (someone backed into my parked truck). I only have 2000 miles on my 2015 that's 3 months old. I decided to get mine fixed. I know it will get its fair share of bumps and bruises but just not at 3 months old! :)

More pictures here and here. I believe the damage would have been much worse without the SpareBumper.

I have no clue why you wouldn't get this fixed.

I was very lightly rear-ended twice in two weeks a few months ago. The damage was about the same as what you have here. Minor scratching a a few small indentions. Here's how it worked for me.

I called the two other people's insurance companies to report the accidents. They each sent an adjuster out. I took it to the dealership and the other drivers' insurance companies worked with the dealership. They cut a check to the dealership for the repairs and paid for the rental car. Given paint was involved, the car was in the shop 5 days. My insurance company wasn't involved at all.

The dealership very likely won't be replacing anything with that minor damage. They will sand it, fill it, and paint it and it will look as good as new.

Now, this was on the M3 so of course, it was about $1,200 in damage. They had to replace a couple of the backup sensors in addition to the paint and such.

Glad you are ok. Truck should be fine but have them check the frame. Worst case it will be totaled and then you can take the check and get a brand spanking new 2015 and have a superior vehicle.

If you don't mind, post the repair estimates and the parts they are replacing. Curious to see how "cheap" they are. Sweers swears they are cheapest parts. :)

Also, good thing you don't have tech, you might be buying new BU sensors and BSM radar.

Very curious to know what Parts cost to replace the bumper pieces and labor....since toyota touted this plastic 3 piece as a design change to save the customer money on repair and replacement -- as well as cutting down on vehicle weight

I didn't think those bumper / hitch dildo things actually worked... I can't hardly wait to upgrade to a plate or tube bumper.

OP: I wouldn't sweat it. Can't hardly see any damage in the photos. I'd collect cash from the insurance company and keep it.

Not sure where the thread is but there were pics of a guy who rolled his new sport in the dirt on here yesterday.

Yep. I got backed into when I was parked on the street a couple months ago and the guy ended up buying me a brand new full bumper because of a golf ball sized dent.

I obviously don't know the particulars of this situation but keeping the money may not be an option if the car isn't owned outright.

Agreed. If OP took a loan out on it, the option to keep any insurance proceeds would be determined by provisions in the lender contract.

So after seeing what happened to this car... Did anyone else realize that it fit perfectly in the lyrics to 'another one bites the dust'?
"unf unf unf... A celica bites the dust... unf unf unf... and another one gone and another one done and another one bites the dust... unf unf unf"

I think that's a celica, anyway. I doubt they put hood scoops on priuses.

I'm guessing you drove home and they didn't :p
