I halfway use my tacoma and halfway use my company truck, which is now a f150 since my f250 was totaled and I wanted to make sure I'm still seen in my truck. I'm mostly on highways but sometimes I'm off road or in a large quarry. So what I did was wire up two strobes and used velcro to attach them to my rear head rests, then I installed a dash light in the center head rest. The reason I did this is because the dash units have their own wiring so it's on a separate switch which mean I can have two casual strobes on or I can flip a switch and tell everyone to please back the F off me. In the front I put two strobes behind the grill which fit perfectly in my 2009. And another dash light up front.
I still have two strobes I can throw somewhere but I don't think I need them plus the two left are cheap extras we had.

Not sure why the dash light looks so wimpy in this video but it's the same one that's in the rear of the truck in the center, it's blindingly bright. It has a daytime and night time mode so you don't blind people at night.

I started out by taking the covers off the strobes, which is just the plastic piece that goes over the light that you screw in to secure your light. I on the other hand took a different aproach.

With the covers off the lights fit perfectly in the slots of the grill, I have a 2009. With the light in the slot the tabs that normally are used to hold the screws are now resting on both sides of the grill.
I used super glue to glue and hold them in place. Once dried I took some epoxy and made a seal all the way around the unit and down the sides of the unit to bond it to the plastic and grill. Use an epoxy meant for plastic that can still bend a bit if needed. This stuff generally needs about 24 hours to fully set especially when you use it thick like this to form a seal.
I've done his on 3 different trucks and all have been used off road and in very rough quarry terrain so it will be fully secure once set.
Now for wiring it's super east.

Red wire you run to your load like you would an auxiliary light.

Black is Ground and should be ground close by like any other electronic

Per most strobe units yellow is your pattern sync wire, leave these alone till later

Per most strobe units white is your delay sync. Meaning if you ignore them all then they will all flash at the exact same time. If you want your lights to alternate then you will wire ONE of the wires back into your hot wire. This goes for units that have their own modual built in. If you have old fashioned style lights or a brand that needs a module you need to run these however the directions tell you to. In some cases you will wire half your lights on one side and half on the other side of the relay and the module will assign one group as 1 and the other as 2 or even 3,4,ect and flash each group accordingly. But don't worry about that because most lights have their own module built in.

Once you get everything wired up with quick connects/disconnects go back to your lights and with the switch on and lights flashing you'll disconnect your other lights (disconnect them from the hot wire) and the one light you have left flashing is ready to be put on the pattern you want. In order to do so you touch the yellow wire to the hot (I touch it to the surface space of the quick connects) for about 5 seconds, the light during this time will be solid and then take the yellow wire off the hot and the pattern should have changed, if it didn't you held it down too long or not long enough. Now keep doing it till you like what you see. Now unplug that light from the hot and plug up the next light and do it again. Once your done hook it all back up, turn the switch off and back on again and go look at how your lights are flashing. They should all be the same now.
If you wired them up to alternate then check to see that they are. Remember though that if you wire something up to alternate the flash pattern you choose may be flashing twice a second BUT since the light across from it is flashing between that units flashes it will appear to traffic much faster with much more contrast. Like my lights in my grill. Mine flash slow but the contrast you see with your eyes from the alternating pattern appear more intense. So keep that in mind when you choose a friggin raging quad flash and alternate the pattern, you'll look like an emergency vehicle that's gone insane.
