Jesus dude. Where you at, Chicago?

Looking at the position, how easily do you draw it? It looks like you would have to pullback and go up and/ over the steering wheel.

In Chicago I am pretty sure it is illegal to carry. Funny part is if you are from Indiana and have a LTCH you can carry while in your car while in Chicago while locals can't.

I bolted mine in, was a pain with the holster I used but it aint ever going anywhere. Last thing I wanted was it to turn into a flying projectile if I were to wreck and had it in the holster

Please dont think im being a smartass in asking this, im very pro 2nd amendment. Though have either of you ever remotely been in a situation that where you were in the drivers seat and would have wished you had your pistol in a spot like that? Just curious as it doesnt seem practical.

Exactly what i was thinking. Though im 6'2 and my knees would totally impede drawing a gun from under the steering column.

Honest question. For me when I was in college we couldn't carry on campus but we could leave it secured in the car. Or when I worked at Bestbuy I obviously couldn't conceal it with a tucked in shirt and our manager had been held at gun point a couple times. Now that I'm going into law enforcement I can basically carry wherever I want. But It was put in more so for storage when I go somewhere Im not supposed to have it at the time. Perfect spot for it to be if let say someone tried to rob me while leaving school or work. Now it never leaves my side

The short answer is car jackings. They happen. If you are one of the lucky one, you don't want your pistol out of reach.

I think we all pray we never need it, but train/prepare for the day it could.

I understand your comment,Ive never been in that position and i hope to never be. Although i worked for brinks for a long time and carrying is second nature to me i never leave my house with out my side arm (just like its my wallet) but being in that feild of work i had to defend my coworkers from crazies a few time and with a seat belt on i felt it was hard to draw if necessary so this i feel works better. Even though its in my personal truck i just dont want to wind up in a situation where a seat belt could end my life

Thanks, those are very sensible reasons. Only concern for what @bellassaiw10 said is the storage when you have to leave the truck without it. In that spot it would be fairly visible, especially from the passenger side. I know in a dump like Los Angeles, i wouldn't put it past someone to take 10 seconds to smash a window for a free gun.
