I haven't looked, nor measured, but I searched tirelessly on here and didn't find my answer. Is the long bed on the '16 the same dimensionally as the 05-15's? Is the rail system the same? Reason why I ask is because I'm contemplating getting a '16 and am curious if I can transfer my soft tonneau cover over to it

Best to measure, then head to closest dealer and measure the new ones? :D

Of course it's best to measure. I just figured I'd ask in case someone experienced it already.

I work at a local Toyota dealership as a technician and will likely be buying a new 16. I'm going to do some measuring today.

I've only been looking at the hard folding covers but from what I've found none of those covers made for the 2015's and earlier fit the 2016. A couple of the tonneau manufacturers I contacted said there are differences, but didn't list and specifics, that will require changes to the cover to fit. Most expect to have the new covers by the end of the year. I would check with the manufacturer of your current cover to find out for certain.

The bed size is the same but what is different is the wider tailgate lip. The 2015 covers will fit but the more of the tailgate lip will stick out. I have contacted Lund and Extang who both said that their covers for the 2016 will not be available until December.

I have a 2016 on order and will be swapping my cover over. I'll post a write up of what I have to do to adapt it.

20151020_173712.jpg So I installed my tonneau cover off my 11 onto my 16, the only thing I had to modify was the back end due to the wider tailgate lip on top but besides that works an

Thats a pretty nice and functional tonneau cover right there.
I would wait t'ill they come out with a 2016 fit cause that looks like a pretty tight fit.

Foldacover was one of the companies I contacted, they expect to have the G4 Elite available for the 2016 Tacoma by the end of the year.

I would have to say no! Otherwise all the tonneau mfr's would have their sites updated. Backflip says 30-60 days. SO apparently it's either a minor adjustment or they are having issues getting a hold of a 16 for measurement and testing.
