Yeah. I really do think once people get over the anti Harper movement he will be looked at differently. Not as a historically great PM, but as a good one for Canada at the time who had his own personal political flaws.

Maybe they will. I certainly won't. Too much Hypocrisy, cronyism and far too dictatorship. (Muzzling of scientists, trying to sell off CBC and Canada post, Saying he won't get in bed with China and then promptly performing political fellatio on them?)

Note - I realize my views aren't indicative of Canada's. I'm just stating my personal opinion. I have nothing against Conservatives, just Harper and his Harper Government.

The Left has their Trudeau, can the right please find their Joe Clark. I would Joe Clark V2.0 please. ( I would still vote left, but I could then start respecting the right again.)

Don't forget the environment, some of the most pristine, and fragile, environments in the world are in the British Columbia and we, as a people, are very protective of this.

Last night the CBC interviewed Joe Clarke and he had some good things to say about the new PM.

I don't forget the environment. Nor do I think we should ignore our responsibility to protect it for the enjoyment of future generations. Pristine, and fragile, environments are not unique to BC and Alberta is not devoid of them. Banff, Kanaskis, Ghost, Crownest, Waterton/Glacier, Waterbuffalo, Athabasca, etc etc are all equally as precious and vulnerable as any area in BC.

That all being said, people need to eat and make money too. There is a balance there and I think, to be honest, we do too much swinging back and forth each way rather than finding ways to make the middle ground work with higher safety standards and solutions.

I think Mulcair and Harper were both voted against, rather than Trudeau voted for. Vanilla ice cream, like I said.

65% of people had already decided to not vote for Harper

Not sure it's that simple . I think people didn't buy the balanced budget at all costs rhetoric from Harper and the same applied to Mulcair among other differences

Yup. Without some pro oil political clout the industry is in trouble. With the NDP pull down there pants and preparing to take a dump on the oil sands plus a Liberal government out east there will be no love for the patch. Not for a while. Not unless something happens to global oil prices.

I'm also making a speculation that this election was a significant nail in the coffin for the Alberta NDP. I'm willing to bet that they try to play ball Federally and, if so, when Alberta turns on Trudeau completely, which tends to happen when the Liberals are in power, it will only drive more people over to the Wildrose. I wouldn't even be surprised if the separatists here poke there heads back up in a few years.

How exactly is the federal government supposed to move thr price of oil up

And the Liberals are in favour or Energy East and supported Keystone XL

With no markets to ship to other than the USA and record levels of oil coming from fracking, I doubt it. No shiny new BC pipelines means no hope for a quick bounce back for a long time.
