    Really need opinions guys.

So I'm more of a DIY guy, because I like the feeling of accomplishment from doing my own projects, but the downside to that is sometimes work done on your own is not as good as someone who is "professional". With that said..

I bought the customcargrills.com mesh grill with the letters tacoma on it. Installed it. First black. COuldn't really see it, so a week later, painted it. The problem is, I don't know how I feel about it. I feel like it looks flat? I'm thinking of a darker, (gunmetal) color, or I was thinking of adding a gloss layer to it. But everyone else seems to like it. I don't know, maybe it'll grow on me. Can I get some opinions or suggestions?

I would paint the chrome grille to match truck and black out the headlights. Once that's done see what the black letters look like. The silver letters looks awful in my opinion. Grille mesh looks awesome though.

I would have left it black. Any other color would make you a rolling billboard.

I'm a fan of subtlety. Leave it black and color match the grill surround.

Custom car grills insert, emblem, shipping for both, 2 tubes of auto goop, Dremel attachment, cutting saw. When all was said and done I spent $109and about five cold nights:

Any major truck mod should carry the same approach as getting a tattoo. The big question to ask is, while it looks cool and sounds like a good idea NOW, will it be tacky and outdated in five years?

Thanks guys. Yeah I was ashamed to be driving around in a tacky grill today. I think I'm going back to black. How do I get the exact paint to match the silver on my truck for painting the chrome? Would I have to buy it or go through Toyota?

I am partial to the lightbar version as well. The 2015 and down grilles are on sale right now. The 2014 lighbar grille is currently $351.00.
