Getting a 'jug' whistle whirl sound from what seems to be behind the instrument panel when on the interstate.

It isn't constant, appears during a gust of wind.

I'm guessing it's some hole or cutout that creates a whirl whistle with enough wind

    Anyone else hearing this?

Yes, but it's usually when I hit 85ishMPH and it sounds like it's coming from the passenger window.

In comparison to other trucks I've driven/riden in, my Tacoma is the noisiest som bitch ever. I tend not to care much about wind noise. Just crank up the radio some.

I have a slight med pitched off and on whine between 45-55MPH then it goes away.....Not sure what it is. Tech heard it but it's not nearly bad enough to dig into at this time.

Toyota opening a service ticket for it. They discovered it on other new trucks

My 2nd Gen Tacoma had wind shield noise a few years after puchase. Turns out they didn't apply enough sealant and it affected a lot of other 05 Tacomas. Windshield replacement for a rock chip fixed that. Was a whistling noise.

When I hit around 110 mph I hear a very shrill ear splitting whine coming from my passenger seat....only when my wife is with me tho.

Mine is at around 45 mph. I coming from the front. Sounds to me like at lower speeds the vortex generators (little fins by thebmirrors) are causing a low hum.

Yes I have a wind noise as well. Reminds me a bit of the show Airwolf. Probably around 45-55 mph for me. Not very loud so it doesn't bother me. It sounds like it's coming from around the mirrors outside, but not sure.

Several design changes were made to the 2016 to reduce outside noise, seems quiet to me.

I hear it's pretty common for 2nd gens to have wind noise when traveling in heavy/gusty cross winds. My 20134 does it and everyone I've talked to experiences the same thing. Not sure there is a solution for it though.

I get that wind noise also. Sounds like it's coming from the left outside mirror. But it starts way slower than 45. I can hear it as low as 25 or 30 mph. As OP mentioned above, it does sound like a jug whistle. But not just during a gust, it's there all the time. (I have noticed the gust noise twice, but it was only for a second or two.)

I have heard it too. 55-63 mph but on off road version only. The sport I had for a day had no issues.
