    ahh, I see. I think if you take the finish off the hardware, you should be able to do away with the supplemental ground and zip tie. You should be careful about using right angles or any tight angles with the antenna wire because that can serve to decrease signal strength.

    I have the ground (the blue one) running directly to the chassis. the tightest bend in the antenna is what you see at the bottom right - do you think that is still too tight?

    Well, that's sorta OK because I'm mainly worried about kinks. I have something similar, so basically as long as the cable isn't kinked, not getting stretched out, stays put and you're getting adequate signal, you ought to be ok.
